Those chanting “We want the Cup” will be tried, convicted and shot on-site.

Shot on-site, or shot on sight? I vote both.

I wish Flames scarves became a thing at the Dome. Something like what Anfield does would be amazing. No other team is doing it.

Wonder what they're handing out to fans at the Dome this time?

Towels (again).

Tip: don't throw your towel onto the ice with 0.1 seconds left in the game like that boob in Nashville.

Original sometimes sucks as well. Especially if it’s contrived. I laughed the first time I heard the Preds fans do their goalie chant. Then it got tiresome.
The Dallas Stars were always a second team for me growing up and i remember them yelling "stars" during the anthem before the flames.

I thought "C" of "Red" didnt become a thing until 03-04?

They make Vancouver's rioters look like amateurs.

Yay Europe!

C and Red definitely didn’t exist in 04. It came in afterwards.

Yikes, I respectfully disagree. Soccer culture provides an amazing atmosphere. The NHL could use more of it.

Yeah, no kidding right? I love going to the Dome with a bunch of business people where you can hear a pin drop. People don't even stand to cheer for goals. I absolutely love that.

I hate when I'm at sporting events in Europe and the entire crowd is into it, having fun and cheering/chanting. Soooo boring.

North American sports needs to learn from European sports fans, minus the rioting and violence after games from 'ultras'.

Not sure you can get one without the other. It’s a very different demographic that attends games over there.

This is a weird time to have this argument. During the regular season, the Dome is a library most nights and that's they way it has always been. Players have even noticed it, although they acknowledge it is at least in part due to the fact that a lot of people are knowledgeable about the game, and don't just come to get drunk and cheer loudly.

But playoffs are on another level, and I think the atmosphere is pretty darn good. Combine that with all of the red jerseys (which no other rink in the NHL can compete with), and it can be a pretty intimidating place to play IMO.

Calgarians can go from 0 to 100 come playoffs.

I think they slip a little something in the dome beer. Maybe it’s just fermented to perfection.

While this is true, imagine if we took it to another level, with dozens of flags and scarves during the pregame skate, anthem, ad breaks, intermissions.

It was more like 2008 or 2009 and it took a while to pick up. If you look at the early comments in this thread from 2010, it was still a divisive topic at the time.

By early 2011, it had gained enough steam that you can hear it clearly during the anthem at the Heritage Classic...
