Kevin Weeks was getting straight up slandered by homer Oilers media for having the audacity to say Quick was better than Smith
Aged will for him, and therefore the world

Just shows their irrational bias towards their own guy. I'd take Quick any day over Smith. Give me the younger guy with 2 cups and a bunch of deep playoff runs versus the gaffe-prone, raging 40 year old train wreck.

well this is teetering on the edge, they almost certainly won't be the fastest as there is likely to be a sweep

I could watch that replay over and over. The fire drill that ensues.
Question: does Smith glare himself down in the mirror tonight

Mike Smith looks like he sleeps outside Rogers Place between games.

My favorite part of the game is Smith pretending he's a new person. I #### you not, he's a liar.

1 vs 3 McDavid EA sports goal the only thing the Oilers could produce at 5 on 5.

I don't even blame Smith. I think that was an attempted set-play. Two Oilers in the neutral zone, with one right near the red line, while the puck was deep in their end. That's bait for someone like Smith and I don't think the Oilers were surprised he attempted it.
Really stupid thing to try in a tie game, but that is what you get when the team is full of arrogant jerks.

One of the best parts for me was:
"You've got superstar Draisaitl against the pensioner Anze Kopitar for a face-off...oh yeah, Leon's got this!"
Narrator: "He didn't."

My guess is the Kings probably decided to shoot it in more than usual Asa strategy, then clog up the middle...and eventually Smith would cough one up. Also if you watch the replay there's an Oiler well past the red line waiting for the pass.
As mentioned, after his breakaway pass to McDavid not long ago, that's likely a planned play, but some Kings scouting keeps an extra player upnthe middle to prevent they or take advantage of that.

If they go down two games, they'll never recover. They are not a mentally strong group.

Mike Smith now has one win in his last 10 playoff games. ONE. To go with an extremely pedestrian 0.912 SP over that span.

From r/hockey:
"The Oilers have been tied in the last 12 minutes of the 3rd period in their last 7 playoff games. Their record in those games is 0-7."

Puljujarvi had less than 8 minutes of ice-time? Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
