If the kings can get into the small brains of Leon and his sidekicks dumb and dumber and live there rent free this series won't last long.
Discipline and defence will be the key for the kings .
Go Kings Go

I hope this series goes a grinding punishing 7 games so that if the Flames win their series they mop up what's left over. Kings in 7

Based in what? Their record says otherwise... especially with massive injuries

Really? Their last two meetings were very close games against an injury-ravaged Kings team, with one of them ending in the skills comp. LA also beat them handily earlier in the season by a 5-1 score. Kings match up just fine against them.

Nope. Oilers match up well against the division in general. Kings aren’t as good as their record suggests. Oilers will be one of the first teams to get into the 2nd round. Book it.

All of the advanced metrics would tell you the Kings are as good as their record suggests.

I think Flames fans are voting with their hearts not their heads. Oilers have been just as good as the Flames over the past few months. IMO they are a dark horse to make it to the finals if Smith can maintain his play. If not then all bets are off.

Finals lol, okay now you are just trying to get people going
Oilers barely beat the Kings when they were missing 7 guys...most of them are back now. Oilers had a really good rested while opponent tired schedule and plenty of backups too. Ended up with 3 more regulation wins.
Also the Flames are better than the Oilers since the ASB, miles better when you take out SO and 3 on 3

Based on what metrics?
Few months = 3.... Yes?
If so...
Flames have 6 more regulation wins
6 more total points
.750 to .695 point %
Scored 14 more goals
Gave up 9 fewer goals
Edmonton PP% was 24.2...Flames 23.9
PK%...Oilers 81.7...Flames 82.7
Flames took more shots and gave up fewer.
Goaltending looks like this
Markstrom .919 save%....Smith .921
Markstrom 2.30 GAA....Smith 2.55
I really fail to see how that equates to the Oilers being "as good".

I'm going to L.A for the Fozzy concert. I'm going to the game on Friday. Hopefully I get to witness a third straight loss.

Can Smith win a series? Sure.
Can he stay hot for 3 series? Not likely.
Especially with their mediocre defense, the Oilers' goaltending is unlikely to hold up for a deep run.

I think the Oilers win this in 5 games but there is a scenario where I can see this being a long series. Kopitar and Danault are 2 of the better defensive centers in the league and over 7 games they can potentially limit the Oilers stars. Smith could easily start to falter and who knows?

The Oilers have been on some heater in April, which makes me wonder about the Kings chances. There have been a number of SO and OT wins that make it look more impressive than it actually is. I also think that the oilers have started to show some errors in their play recently. If this were February, I’d be fairly confident that the oilers were due to lose a few in a row.
When you can have Kopitar and Danualt on the ice to match McDavid and Draisailt that could be a grind for the oilers stars.
If the series is quick then it’s the oilers winning. If it’s a grind then I think the kings goaltending will win out as Smith can’t handle a long series with ups and downs.
I think Kings in 6.

I think that the Oilers have this series. Kings have been injury ravaged. If quick, stands on his head and plays like he did in his prime, the Kings might have a chance. I hope to be proven wrong, though.
I don’t think my heart can handle a battle of Alberta in the second round, if both the Flames and Oilers win their respective series.

Kings in 5. They are going to get into Smith's head and he and the team will implode. McCryBaby is going to pout that they are not calling anything and he will disappear.

Kings have everyone back but Doughty...they finished the season 5-0-1 since the majority came back.
Nurse also hasn't skated in a week so who knows there...could both be missing a dman
