I believe the poster is referring to TV markets.
Of 107 million households in the U.S., 7.4 million are in the New York market, 5.7 million in LA. No other market comes close, with Chicago third at 3.4 million.

I want Edmonton to win just so I can watch Calgary beat them. I realize this puts Calgary in the west final but, priorities. Also my kid likes the Flames so what can I do.

Kid's got good taste.
Oilers getting through wouldn't be surprising or that bothersome. LA is considered by many to be the weakest playoff team. I personally think they can be good if they stick to their system and use their work ethic, but at the end of the day they just appear to be the best of a group of mediocre pacific teams and they're only there because Vegas imploded and the PAC has to put 3 teams through.

LA has 99 points, they aren't in because Vegas blew it they would be the first Wild Card team even if Vegas was top 3. If you take out the stretch they had 7+ regulars out their record is even better.

I agree, people are selling LA short.
They actually had a very solid and consistent season until being dismantled by injuries. Their only real poor stretch of play was completely excusable.

Have to think Todd McLellan is very motivated in this series. Hopefully he can school Woodcroft on the coaching front

Harnarayan Singh, Louie DeBrusk, and Scott Oake are the CBC and Sportsnet commentators for this series.

And Oilers fans are maaaaad that they don't get Jack Michaels
I don't understand why they like his calls so much, sounds like a AHL radio pbp guy, needs to control his levels more. Worse than when Wills first started

Why would we think he has any more good games in him? Smith hasn't played a good playoff game since Game #2 in 2019.

Predicting the very, very closest sweep ever. History books will record just how close this sweep is.
4-0 kings. The littlest crap weasel on the kings drives Pissy and Mavi mental.
Mavi coins another timeless phrase that instantly becomes another CP classic meme.
Oilers media declares the Oilers champions and demands a banner for the team that the nhl screwed over. Inquiries will be launched. Klowe agrees to the banner request and a 3 hour ceremony is held to raise it in the preseason. Much like the playin that became the playoffs, this banner is now counted as a Stanley cup victory.
Within days, both of the personal trophy boys demand trades. One is accommodated.
The beaver…he either walks and signs a big contract somewhere else, or Klowe agrees with fanboy requests and manages to squeeze the Beav “under the salary cap”, even although it doesn’t affect coaches.
Kane, fresh off his new contract elsewhere, immediately says that his time with the Oilers was the most boring team that he has ever been on, and immediately has his new $6,000,000 contract garnisheed. He retires.

Sounds like he's about to call Bret Hart slapping the sharpshooter on Shawn Michaels, all the time. He's terrible.

You keep prattling on about this like it means something. In fact, you very recently said exactly the same thing heading into a game in which the Flames blitzed the Oulers for nine even-strength goals. Nine!
The fact is that regular season series results are among the most unreliable measures of playoff success. Teams win or lose on the backs of goaltending and defence, and these are easily two of the most obvious, glaring holes in that Edmonton roster.

If the series depend on old man Smith, the series is loss already. If you said the series depend on the wonder twins, you might have something. Oilers trying to out score the Kings and try to win games 6-5 but will lose 5-2.
