I've been celebrating so much I forgot to add the empty net goal.
Will do now. Thanks.

The Lindholm Oettinger thing is nothing
Lindholm lost the handle on a puck when Ottenger dove with the paddle down
Then he took a one timer that was poorly placed, it was low and went right in to his pad which was on the ice. The passing made the commentators praise the save but the shot placement was the reason for the save. Not a wizardly goaltender
I forget if Lindholm was the shooter on the skate save. Now that was a good save
The others? Meh.

With the Wild and Blues only 1 point behind I do not think Sutter will rest guys. They want home ice in case they play either team later in playoffs.

Liked a lot about the game. Especially the 2nd line providing offense again!

I would assume because people want to be "first" and create the thread prior to the score being final.

Absolutely not.
That takes away the team game and lets bad habits creep in.
Stick to the plan and systems.

Gelhead wasn't very good in game 7 either though. Or any of the other games he reffed.

I know D Sutters don't grow on trees but we had multiple chances to make offers to guys like Boudreau and Gallant.
Super happy for the boys they bought in and put in the effort. I truly believe this team has the potential to go to at least a Western Conference Final and who knows what happens from there.
Go Flames Go.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they've made offers to more "name" coaches than you realize.
Finally found one that wants to coach in Alberta.

Amazing too the difference when he's healthy vs playing through something. Looks like a completely different player and adds a totally different dynamic to the team.

Or, perhaps, one willing to put up with questions in pressers that come from Eric Francis....

I'd rather see this Kylington than the hesitant, inconsistent one we saw immediately after he took that fall.
|
This year, Kylington learned that he can not only play in this league, but he can be a star. His best is more than good enough.
What he needs now is for the game to slow down for him. That hasn't really happened yet, and takes a while for defensemen. Once it does, and he plays the game with the relaxed confidence that comes with it, he will be a top pairing defenseman.

Treliving has made some good moves, but wasting so many prime years of Gaudreau and Tkachuk with garbage coaches is criminal. His job hinges on both doing well in the playoffs and making sure he doesn't lose those players for nothing I think

Gotta say, when Kylington was pinching in on that late third period powerplay with the score 3-2, I was wondering what Sutter was thinking.
To his credit, he generated a solid scoring opportunity (but just couldn't connect), and he had the speed not only to get back to the point, but to try it again

Aren't you saying you're going to fire a guy that is good at many things, right after he learned the thing that you think he needed to learn?
The team has won two division titles in four years with two different coaches.

This, plus what GM is out there that's better anyway? Who moves the needle?
Treliving's last few big moves have been pretty unassailable. Tanev, Markstrom, Coleman, Toffoli. That's solid.

Canadian fans...
On the night the team clinches the division (by a wide margin), the GM is brought up in this manner.

Great game. The Flames had some awful puck luck and got absolutely stoned multiple times (especially Lindholm), but still found a way to win. Could have easily been 7-2 with a few different bounces.
