They're giving <<censored>> a fair chance at matching <<censored>>'s record with a few games remaining.

Lots of interest in when which goalie should play.

With Monahan out the center ice position is just as interesting. Not impressed with Carpenter. Jarnkrok has also not exactly stood out and he has decent wingers 0-2 in 10 games. Rudzicka's got 5-5 in 26 games and is plus 8. Sure seems like he'll be a fixture come playoffs. Hope so, I like what I've seen mostly.

Exactly.

100% why Darryl is starting Markstrom.

Weren’t these the first two games that were postponed due to covid, should be able to beat the Hawks, get Johnny some more points and have him finish ahead of Draisaitl.

Go Flames!

Comments from the OTHER side, Hawks talk...but not much!

Seven games left. I don't like our chances in this one, Calgary is tough.

We have one voter who still "Believes in Miracles" for a win.

Wasn't me lol

Hawks couldn't even beat Arizona and the Flames beat them 9-1, Lankinen will let in at least 4 goals as usual, maybe 6+.

True contender powerhouse will get it done against our lowly Hawks. God love 'em though. Flames 4-3.

That Pacific division is just so bad its hard to get a read on the Flames. I don't think they are very good. I think the Wild or Blues would take out any team in the pacific. But the flames are definitely tougher and should kick the #### out of the hawks.

Yup, agree with this. Best way to keep him tuned up but not shelled and crashed by desperate teams.

Except Markstrom IS also playing the tough teams (like VGS)

If he was just playing the easy games - great. But that is not the case, he is playing all the games.

Funny how I have heard the Wild referred to as a big tough team from other fan bases but the Flames owned them twice physically and on the scoreboard. Blues scare me more than the Wild but outside the Avs I am not overly worried about the Central division

With the current volume of games, in a short time span, that will change.

That's what everyone keeps saying.

Still time for it to happen, but not much.

That was because Sutter wanted a 60 minute game out of him and he’d been pulled against Seattle. He didn’t get it against Vegas either, so he started him again.

Sutter confirmed this.

I’ll be very surprised if Markstrom starts in Nashville, tomorrow night.

Flames have 7 games left - I'll be surprised if he starts less than 5.

Nobody wants Markstrom hurt. Nobody wants him exhausted. But I have a tough time believing the coaching staff doesn't share that concern right?

The other angle is having him rusty or off his game from too little work.

Whatever the answer is I'm sure they're trying to figure it out too. It's not like it's just dress Markstrom to spite hockey fans.

I think we see Markstrom vs the Hawks, Stars, Canucks, and maybe Jets.

Vladar against Predators x 2 , and Wild.

Sutter does come across as spiteful at times

Purely anecdotal, but it seems to me Markstrom is a bit slower to get going after a layoff - slow starts at the beginning of a season, was a bit off after the CoVid break - so yes, get some rest, but keep him warm and ready for playoffs.

Can't afford a slow goalie start in a few weeks!
