I think this is key.

I liked the Lucic-Carpenter-Lewis line tonight and obviously the top line is a thing of beauty but the middle six needs some tweaks.

Gaudreau is a point per game player on his career now. 589 points in 589 games.

I’d rather play the Kings than the Knights. Are we so certain we want the kings losing?
This is funny because the poster absolutely rules out the possibility of the Knights bouncing them out, and not the Kings.

"Milan Lucic feels safe knowing he has Johnny Gaudreau on his team" ... funny, think Johnny is going to be teased by his team mates.

There was no “referee making the call”, as no call was made until after they watched the video. And the rule allows them to rescind the call, not make the call.
If you go back and watch, the ref announces after the review “the call on the ice is confirmed, four minutes double minor.”

So while there was no ref hand in the air, I wouldn’t put it past the linesman to have seen the high stick and inform the ref and the ref made that call on the ice. Linesmen are allowed to inform/report if the ref seeks them out. It would have been nice if they announced “the call on the ice is a double minor for high sticking, we will review the play” or something like that. Could have had all the questions and debate ended right there.

I don’t believe for a second that they did anything outside the laws of the game, but they sure as hell could have communicated things better.

Great win. Those PK'ers certainly raised their game since recent Sutter criticisms.

Just finished the game on PVR. Nice grind-out win by the flames despite ridiculous officiating (on both sides). Out play-offed the kings. Little punk durzi must have been taking d-bag lessons from doughty, king of the fake tough guy d-bags. Flames needed that. Thought I wouldn’t hate the kings as much without doughty. I was wrong.

Gutted that one out, thank God for Johnny Gaudreau. He dragged the Flames kicking and screaming into the win column.

What a game. Easily the most entertaining game since the 9-5 win vs the Oilers. Flames PK was stellar. Gaudreau needs to be re-signed without question. Do it.

Flames needed that win desperately and came up huge.

Flames are ***ked without Gaudreau, it's so perplexing that he's not signed

Shame the refs ruined it.

Also, really sad to see the kind of garbage Durzi was doing, creeping into the game. Same with McDavid - in fact, even more so, as kids look up to McDavid.

With each season, the reffing gets worse, and the diving gets worse - at some point, it will end me as a fan.
They need to start handing out embellishment penalties.
