That’s not what happened. But what happened tonight is within the replay rules.

https://www.nhl.com/news/rule-change...on/c-307950356
That isn’t what happened.

“For double-minor high-sticking penalties, the referee making the call will have the discretion to review it at the scorer's table. If upon review it shows that the offending stick was not from the player being penalized, the referee will be able to rescind the call.”

There was no “referee making the call”, as no call was made until after they watched the video. And the rule allows them to rescind the call, not make the call.

Players are responsible for their stick at all times. Being stick lifted isn’t an excuse.
That's not actually the rule.

Gutsy win, classic NHL garbage reffing, Top line magic.

Colour me worried about the complete lack of secondary scoring. Can’t win playoff series like this.

Looking at the standings and schedule I can see Vegas bumping Edmonton down to WC2 to face the Avs.

Out altogether would be nice but I'll take that outcome too.

This was a great hockey game, and both teams came to play.

Shame the refs ruined it.

Also, really sad to see the kind of garbage Durzi was doing, creeping into the game. Same with McDavid - in fact, even more so, as kids look up to McDavid.

With each season, the reffing gets worse, and the diving gets worse - at some point, it will end me as a fan.

I’m not one to complain about diving but wow the Kings were professional divers all night.

Johnny is electric. I love Monahan but Johnny is showing what he’s capable of playing with other elite players. He is entering historic +/- territory and is leading the NHL in EV points. He has to be a Hart finalist.

If the Flames re-sign Johnny long term, we will have an all-time franchise great on the same level as 12 and 14. Let’s hope he can keep this up in the playoffs because that’s what’s needed for him to really enter that category. I think he will because we have an elite coach, a tough team, and depth.

I have a feeling the Flames players will be chirping him for the Gaudreau take down in the future.

Just make one that says Flames Win you can reuse. No one is looking at the scoreboard anyway.

Pet peeve: when the commentators say "that's always called in today's NHL". No, a stick to the hands is not always called. Maybe it should always be called, but it is not. Why do you lie? Who are you trying to protect?

What a clown. There's some pretty embarrassing replies from other Kings fans too.

With 13 games to play, Gaudreau already has the 8th most ES points by any player since the 04-05 lockout.

Also, Gaudreau has 1:20 less TOI/G than any player above him on the list.

Thanks. It's getting harder and harder to make original ones (background removal challenges) I've done over 40 now. If I do keep posting they will be retreads.

Spoiler!

Out of thanks so thanks Zamler for everything you do!

For a while there I actually thought Yanet was really doing the sports and covering the Flames down in Mexico!

If Oilers make the playoff and play the Kings in the first round, it'll be a diving competition and let's see who'll get the perfect 10.
