Good win in a tough part of the schedule.
It was kind of annoying watching the first intermission with Hrudey going off on Darryl. At least Bieksa of all people made a good point of how the Flames needed a coach like Sutter.
Hrudey is an Edmonton guy and an Oiler fan. I thought he won a cup with the Islanders but I guess not. And Darryl has 2 as a coach.
Good win by the Flames.

What did he say? I missed most of the game.

Not much to be said.
Expected win goes about as expected.
Tomorrow there will be a few more talking points.

It took them awhile to get it going and they were so happy when it finally went around a couple of times. Yeah, some don't like the wave but the kids thought it was great.

Right? This team is LEGIT. Top of the league in pretty much any analytics you want to discuss, dominant all over the ice most games. This team gives me REAL hope for a serious Cup run this year. They have that same feel as the 88-89 team. I am trying VERY hard to temper my expectations, but this team makes it really easy for me to get overly excited

Hrudey doesn't like coaches or players who don't really engage with the media. I remember him being angry at Marchand a few years ago for giving short answers to a reporter.
On the other hand he was showering Woodcroft with praise in that Edmonton game for how much he chatted up the media in his pre-game presser.
Darryl is someone who will give good answers to good, thoughtful questions. If they're poor questions or questions that he can't answer, he's not the type who will fake it and tell them what they want to hear.
I respect Kelly a lot but he comes across as sanctimonious at times.
Also: Sportsnet showing that clip of what Sutter said about Johnny from a year ago, but not showing his praise for Johnny this week is poor form and total BS and is an example of why any ire he does show toward the media is justified

Took my five year old kid to his first game at the Dome tonight. What a game. He had a blast and so did his mom and dad. Going to get to as many games as I can this year. Something about this team feels special.
