Agree. Although I think Toronto assumes Bunting is the best.

Then Zegras and Drysdale from ANA.

Not quite the same, but Jamie Storr was on the rookie team two years in a row.
It's technically possible to win the Calder two years in a row, since there is a games played eligibility. But it's highly unlikely a skater would ever, because once you play 25 games in a season, you lose your eligibility, and it would have to be an extraordinary circumstance to win one year with 24 games or less.
A goalie would be more realistic, but would still need the rest of the field to be pretty abysmal while he only played in 24 games one year.

In the offseason flames should try to retain $2mm on Monahan for a pick. That leaves acw with ability to retain again and flip at deadline.

Not the same, but Ken Dryden won rookie of the year after winning the MVP of the playoffs.

Would there be any chance the Ducks trade Getzlaf? He feels like the perfect veteran center for Mangiapane and Toffoli.

They’re still in it right now so unless they fall pretty fast before the TDL, no. Even then it’s a question of his NMC. Now he’s probably not as likely to veto Calgary as some players, being almost local.

The Islanders can't score, but are a good defensive team. Varlamov is in the last year of his contract next year, and Edmonton leaves their goalies out to dry. No brainer for him to block that.

I wonder if he also feels that it's not worth the move to a team that's less than 50/50 to make a wildcard spot

Yeah, opposite of a guy like Kane looking to pad his stats for a contract.

Lou: Hey Varly, can I interest you in career suicide?
Varlamov: No thank you.

Trade deadline is less than two weeks away... No big moves. No juicy rumours. No public denunciations of those juicy rumours...
