That Johnny goal happened right in front of us and man, was it ever a MOMENT!

I brought a few friends who are teachers (I myself teach Grade 3/4) and this was a great gift to blow off some steam after a few very challenging years at school. Hope everyone enjoyed the game! Glad we dusted those dum dums!
THAT story is why hockey matters.
Glad you had a great night!

He saw Lucic was coming, and froze. Should really have been interference on Broberg.. he was at least 10 feet away from the puck

How the national media isn't calling out draisatl, nurse, and McDavid specifically is beyond me.

That was a completely putrid effort again, when they were needed most given all the injuries.

The "how much more can McDavid take before he wants out" narrative is no longer accurate. McDavid is showing he is not a alpha superstar that can carry a team.

That was a satisfying win. Even when the ref assisted on the Oilers' goal there was no sense of panic like there would have been in the past. It was all business of usual. This team is built a little different, and it shows.

One more game against these losers in a few weeks. Saturday night and a national game so we won’t have Hrudey going out of his way trying to make Oilers fans feel better, instead will be Cassie praising every drop pass and dump in of McDavid’s as elite skill.
He has swallowed the Sportsnet hype full time. He started praising the new coach about how he is so good at answering questions and how the players like him and carried on with all the GREAT plays by Oilers all night.

To be honest I would rather have Garry Galley full time than Hrudey.

He looked like a beer league player going for a 10:30pm skate at Jack Setters.
Gotta give some props to the Backlund line for shutting these guys down. They might not have gotten on the score sheet but they did their job in spades.

A great result. Once again I thought the Flames struggled 5-on-5 to make plays and get clean exits and entries, but they didn’t give anything up either. The defensive group played well as a unit.

Toffoli’s just a great hockey player. So smart with his movements and body positioning. We might have something with Ruzicka. That line has a lot of promise. Excited to see how much more he has to give.

Draisaitl and the oilers exposed for the frauds they are. Dude is so slow and coughs the puck up easier than anything. Maybe a 50 point player without mcdavid.

As of now .600 hockey would give them 94 points and they'd come up about four points short.

Their current target is Vegas as they are a .594 team, and to catch them they need to 17-8-0 or .680

They're not making the playoffs.

Yeah, you can freeze frame and see the exact point where he realizes it is Lucic that is barreling down on him and goes from bracing himself to trying to bail, but it was already too late.

Edmonton's coach looks like he's in a perpetual state of asking if you know where his father is.

Still annoyed Marky didn't get that shutout. The salt would have been even more delicious.

Broberg looked awful well before that dumb play. Absolutely overmatched all night.
Having said that, he is clearly in the top 4 for that dumpster fire.

I literally can't wait until they are mathematically eliminated in a couple weeks here. The interviews with Mavi and Raisaitl are going to be epic. I am very much hoping for a trade demand by one or both. That's the only way to get them out of the mess up there, they are in cap hell going forward and their window to win was actually this year and this year only before Nurse's contract kicked in. The unravelling of the Oilers is nothing short of poetic.
