There's lots of propaganda on all sides of course. And people will continue to believe what they want to believe.
But the sheer volume of images and videos we have seen of destroyed Russian equipment means the Ukrainians are inflicting a lot of damage. That, I think, is a true statement.
Whether it's enough to turn the tide, hold out indefinitely, or destroy Russian morale is yet to be seen.

This is the best bit of info I've seen today, really hope we see more of this. Russian planes and helicopters going down are flashy, but they're not doing near the damage that long range artillery is
Was this taken out by counter-batter? air strike? overrun?
Sadly, the buses are probably for prisoners and the dump trucks for clearing up rubble. This is material for post-invasion, just like one of the destroyer convoys that was full of riot helmets. They still expect to win.
Pretty interesting video on the failed logistics so far.

His prediction that Russia will be trying to say that Ukraine was in the verge of developing nukes turned out to be correct. Today Russian media published a report claiming that Ukrainians were "months away" from getting nukes
Since noone is afraid of Putin's army anymore, the only threat he can make is nukes. Most will dismiss it as postering, but many thought that excersize on Ukrainian border was postering too.
This has huge implications in Syria and Iran, Turkey will be licking its chops and eying vast chunks of Northern Syria to be added to Turkey, after all it used to be ottoman didnt it?

Glad the Ukrainians found them. Bunch of pussies, firing at residential and civilians away in the dark from their hidden location. So brave.
Really hope we see more Russian artillery locations found and destroyed.

So, that's the path Russia is embarking on...Full on North Korean isolation.
Unlike North Koreans who have grown up without any ability to travel or connect to the internet, Russian youth have had these experiences - many of them have travelled and have foreign contacts in either friends or family...
Arbitrary stops to check citizens' phones, if true, is very troubling...

That 1996 Dodge Caravan is going to do a lot of good.
I'd quote Jeff Goldblum here but you can see why this will backfire enormously.
You're going to isolate 140m people from the rest of the planet against their will, and essentially try to completely undo the past 50 years of globalization? Good luck.
It can certainly be both, as in "Putin wanted a quick and decisive victory, and expected that the green recruits and old tanks could achieve it."
I'd say it's more that (1) didn't happen so people are trying to use (2) as the reason. They've had some high ranking guys die and they've brought in a bunch of feared Chechens so it's not just a bunch of randos off the street.

Think the Russians are going to try to negotiate out of this soon before they either kill Zelensky or destroy completely Ukrainian cities. They probably won't ask for much: a promise that Ukraine doesn't join NATO and some fictitious promise about ridding Ukraine of neo-nazis.
As much as I'd love to see a harsh punishment meted out on Russia and Putin, saving tens of thousands of Ukrainian lives is more important.
This is still my view, but TBH I'm not so sure anymore. I honestly thought that after the first set of negotiations they would land there. Russia had made their point, was advancing on Kyiv, and was the perfect time to be seen as "sparing" additional death/destruction. Ceasefire/peace contingent on Donbas nations recognition and formal guarantees around EU and NATO membership (latter being the more important part). I would imagine at that point that Ukrainians would have accepted at least the NATO/EU pieces, so still don't get what Putin is going for long term.
I honestly have no idea what the end game here is. Don't see it ending well for either country right now, but at least its clear a full blown occupation of Ukraine long term won't happen.
Hoping we will see Ukrainian strikes on Russian cities. Fantasy I know.
I don't.
Citizens in Russia are not responsible for this. Worse off, Putin would not care about losing people. He's already sent many young soldiers to their deaths.

Ukrainian strikes on Russian cities is the kind of escalation this war doesn't need. That's just silly to suggest and if you want more violence and dead civilians and getting closer to all-out war (and worse), that's how you do it.
