Ok I take back some of my criticism of the CO announce crew. It’s a pride theme on their telecast and Peter McNabb with some strong comments on inappropriate locker room talk. Good for him.

Singh seems to break away from whatever narrative he's droning on about when certain players get the puck, McKinnoon is one.

I haven’t noticed - is Sutter trying to match them on Mackinnon because, if so, it explains it.

I keep wondering if I'm seeing someone else who has a close number (27, 28) touch the puck, and I'm just getting tricked into thinking it's MacKinnon.

Pretty good road game though a couple brain cramps there as well.

Tied going to 3 against a team with 1 regulation loss in their last 25?

I'll take it!

Pulling out some Teremana Reposado for the 3rd period.

Heck of a hockey game here!

Yeah, I was hoping for something in the middle, either a screen shot or maybe a rebound. Being nitpicky probably, I admit.

Tie game into the 3rd. Fun game. Can't be too upset with this so far.

Avs were the better team in the first half of that period, but the Flames picked it up in those last few minutes and had some decent chances as well. All tied up after 2 against the best team in the league? I'll take it!

Now let's regroup, have a big 3rd and bury these guys.

Tanev's a beaut, and this is probably the worst I've seen him this year, he's made a couple bad decisions on clearings, but yeah, he's just a really clever defenseman and puts it on every shift.

Vladar looking pretty dialled, he's not been an issue.

Hopefully Sutter has magic words for the team again, I thought they looked better early in P2 than later on, got very scrambly and that's not a good way to play the Avs.

May take 5 goals to win this one.

I will take being tied going into the third. Anyone’s game.

This is where Darryl and the coaches need to figure out how to counter and contain the Avs speed. Limit shots snd scoring chances. And carry that strategy into the EDM game.

Loving the physical play!
I just can't believe the difference that some of our offseason pickups have made in that department.

Gaudreau thought he'd create a better opportunity than his own shot by not shooting, and he was right. I think you're being a bit results-oriented in your thinking.

Yeah I think the period break is good.

The Avs have adjusted to the Flames first line's dominance in the first, so time for an adjust from Sutter and a second liner, or another line, to step up, forwards especially.

Flames defense has kept Avs to the outside more or less, no issue there.

Its a fast game. Opportunities are missed all the time.

Stewing over them the rest of the night is pointless.

Let it be and just win the third.

There are so many historians on CP that can't seem to let things go.

The Avalanche were pressing in the last half of the 2nd. Hopefully we'll see a good push-back to start the 3rd. The speed of the Avs is evident though, they have consistently been able to get partial 3 on 2s, creating chances in transition. I hope we clean up our break outs a bit, so that the transition game has a bit more flow.

Watching this game and the way our defense is playing, I actually wouldn't mind trading for another Gudbranson-like player and sitting Kylington for the playoffs. Kylington looks super soft on pucks this game and Gudbranson and Zadorov have actually looked good.

Two really good periods of hockey. Fast and physical. Shots are even. Score is 3-3. Maybe the best game I've seen this year.
