Might be time to back off the contrarian takes:
Tkachuk beats goalie clean off the crossbar - should have passed.
Gaudreau sets up a guy point blank in the slot - should have saucered to player on the wing.

I'm not sure why the Lucic fight caused Sutter to juggle the lines so much. Why put Lindholm on the 4th line right wing for a shift?

I’m certainly not bringing up Sam in here.
But Monahan isn’t just bad value at this stage of his career - he’s just outright bad, and it really really sucks to watch. It has to be a complete mind #%^* for him personally as well.

I said he should have shot, actually. And yes, he made the best of it after he skated himself behind the net. And yes, Monahan muffed the shot close in. But new goalie, two on one, shoot the puck says me.
I agree that 90% of the time their decisions are great. But if the top line (more Tkachuk and Johnny) have a flaw it’s looking for a fancy play.

Flames need more then one line to retain offensive zone possession. Dube, Eat Bread, and others not on L1, are bitplayers in this game.
