He got it to Monahan in a great scoring position and Monahan completely flubbed it and turned it over with his teammates deep.
I’m not going to question Johnny’s decision making, he’s a top-5 player in the league offensively. Sure the shot would have been the simple solution, but he’s trying to create a goal and set Monahan up.
What Monahan did with that puck is sadly just all Monahan can do anymore. Nothing.

The whole play was weird flubs by each forward, not sure why we constantly feel the need to crucify one player.

Monahan’s shot is done though.
And I have a hard time really blaming him for it, it’s clearly injury related and from the injuries to his hands/wrists.
I kind of blame him and the team for him playing through those injuries all those years though.
