I anticipate the day we hear of Putins death, by whatever means, as much if not more than Bin Laden.

Need to call the madman's bluff. I see it as scare tactics.
The costs are quickly outweighing anything they can gain by continuing this futile endeavour.

Calling a bluff on a nuclear armed madman isn't exactly something you should do lightly.

Agreed. It would also fuel domestic opposition to Putin’s regime. The question is now detached from reality and irrational has Putin become.

That Pornhub idea is actually kinda great. People should send them messages that they actually do this.
The company that owns Pornhub is a really big player in internet porn IIRC, owning many if not most of the most popular sites.

The only thing Putin respects is strength.
Rule one of nuclear weapons is you can’t actually use them (Japan aside).
Punch him in the nose, and send him home. He’s not going to start setting off nukes. Crazier men than he have had them and not used them.
Appeasement is going to cost more lives than it saves.

I don’t see how escalation, or threat of escalation, is any sort of path forward when nukes are involved. To make some sort of assessment that “he’s not crazy enough” isn’t something to mess around with.
Also, if your threat is empty it won’t be acknowledged - and if the threat of nuclear action is real, then so would the response.

Nuclear weapons are a game of brinkmanship. They always have been.
You don’t use them until you have to - especially when your opponent has more of them, and you don’t know where they all are. And you definitely don’t use them first.
An intervention now doesn’t threaten the Russian state. It doesn’t threaten anything but the Russian army.
I don’t think Putin has ever been in this game just to die. And I don’t think his actions are “crazy” - I think they’re hyper rational. I think they’re an enormous gamble. But they’re not crazy.
He’s doing this because he thinks it will work and he can get away with it.
Failing to intervene will make it impossible to denuclearize any other nation via guaranteeing their security.
