It was incredibly stupid to seek out his opinion anyways, and not sure why so many people were so eager to hear it.

Because people who disagree with me deserve bad things to happen to them. Obviously.

Ovechkin: "But how I said, I am not in politics. I am an athlete"
#putinteam"
Translated from Google Translation: "Individual awards and prizes are all great, but in hockey, as in any business, the team is more important to win. Only a team is able to turn the tide of the game, to do the impossible. Recently, in the Western press, I come across a combination of Putin's team, that is, Putin's team. And you know, I really liked this definition. Personally, I am ready to be part of such a team. I have never hidden my attitude towards our President, always openly supporting him.
I am sure that there are many of us who support Vladimir Putin! So let's unite and show everyone a strong and united Russia!
Today I want to announce that I am creating a social movement called Putin Team. Being part of such a team is a pride for me, it's like the feeling when you put on the jersey of the Russian national team, knowing that the whole country is rooting for you.
#putinteam"

This tweet is a member of parliament of Ukraine. Just imagine a situation where our MPs are using weapons to defend our Canada.
Just a terrible situation for Ukraine.

Not unless there's a great flood of Russian and western banks deciding to join CIPS, the Chinese equivalent to SWIFT, and letting the Chinese act as intermediary. That seems unlikely to me.

Who on earth would place that much trust in China who is 100x more likely to leverage it against you.

I guess it depends on how you think the next century is going to unfold.
If you believe China will rise to become the dominant superpower of the world...

Yeah, for all its military strength, Russia's economy is smaller than Canada's or South Korea's, and about on par with Australia's.

Ovi spent the last 2 decades enjoying the prominence that being the best Russian hockey player in the world, and hob-knobbing with Putin and the Russian elite.
No wonder he's now waving the 'I'm just an athlete' flag.
Disappointing, but not surprising.

She also spilt out the "perverted fantasy" (her words) that Putin laid out to have peace. Complete nonsense by a deranged mad man. She said a plan was in place to ensure it was never enacted.
Not sure how this will play out for them. Hoping for the best.

Let's suppose for a second that NATO troops enter Ukraine to assist. Even if it's officially announced. How would Russia even retaliate? How can you begin to identify which country to attack?

i remain hopeful that a stable front could be created around Lviv with western aid, if Kiev falls.

It would be like the Korean War? Just fighting a unified NATO Force?

Putin is unstable enough to hold off NATO with the threat of Nukes if they enter Ukraine. I wonder what would happen if a NATO force entered Belarus from the north, attacking and carving off a chunk of that country?

What if the citizens of Lviv declared a breakaway republic and then Poland entered to protect polish people there?
