This will be an interesting test for Seattle. Sutter's Flames are a machine right now and they are firing on all cylinders.
One thing Seattle can hope for is that Flames players will expect an easy win and try to coast.

Also, the biggest issue with moving Gio to the Flames is that the deal needs to be done without retention since he was our expansion draft pick from them. What that means is that we cannot get max value for his trade. That plus Flames gave up their 2022 1st round pick for the Toffoli package.

It wasn’t pretty but it was two points. Flames will take it. Interesting end there . Coleman and tkachuk involved with gio during the game, so gio had a burr under his saddle . Not sure why gio went after backlund? I don’t know if jarnkrok and backlund are buddies but if my captain hits a guy I might be more concerned about helping my team than checking if the opponent was ok? Wonder if gio doesn’t have the room? Just an odd response. The chucky/gio battle does make you wonder if there was a culture clash in the dressing room when gio was captain.

Probably about 5 out of the 6 OT/shootout losses should have been outright wins where they lost in a skills competition. Fortunately, that means nothing in the playoffs, but the Flames could easily have another 5 points in the standings if not for the gimmicks.

I think the Flames are 2-0 in the "skills competition" though. But there are some games they really outplayed teams and lost in OT, like the first ANA game.
