1c. Let me start over
1c-a. The skater is not allowed to do a block to the, uh, goalie, that prohibits the goalie from doing, you know, just trying to save the puck. You can't do that.
1c-b. Once the skater is in the offensive zone, he can't be over here and say to the goalie, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna block your view! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that.
1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to make a goal and then don't leave the crease, you have to still leave the crease. You cannot not avoid the goaltender. Does that make any sense?
1c-b(2). You gotta be, skating motion out of the crease, and then, until you just leave it.
1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have your stick up here, like this, but then there's the interference you gotta think about.
1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Interference hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X.
1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse.
1c-b(2)-b(ii). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic...
1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. An interference is when the skater makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the goalie and the crease...
2) Do not do an interference please.

Goddam it, dude. I’m in tears of laughter here. Early candidate for post of the year.

Me too on the 86 vibe. Still holding out a little hope for picking up J.T. at the deadline. If only we could send back Kromm and Konroyd to get him...

Can't tell the future and obviously the chance is greater we don't win it all, but with the contract status of our high end talent it's now for Treliving.

To me, one of the most important elements of this deal is that it shows how committed to a Stanley Cup run the organization is.

I don't see where the cap space would come from for another significant add without losing a roster player. I think there is room to add someone like a Jarnkrok, but not a J.T.
We got one of the bigger fish available today though, so if we are done, I am good with that.

Kromm and Konroyd returned John Tonelli
Bourgeois, Cavallini, and Beers snagged us the little ball of hate from Hells Kitchen

As mentioned here, Monahan heals up for 6 weeks on LTIR, Flames get player X as a rental, and #23 is fresh for game 1 of round 1 or 2.

Lets not forget the trade for John Tonelli. He was also a huge addition with his 7 goals and 9 assists in the playoffs that year.

Anyways, just excellent pick up.
His words about Sutter, his friendship with Lucic, his scoring abilities.
The timing is fantastic to get the intended target so early.
Gives BT some time to evaluate tweaks in the next 6 weeks as the schedule moves on and figure out what depth is required and where.

First post in this thread
So very pumped about this trade and I drool at the thought of potentially adding another major piece on top of this that is a true blue rental. I know Treliving isn’t a fan of rentals but having gone out and landed a top 6 with term it really takes the pressure of Treliving and allows him to be stealthy leading up to the deadline.
As it sits right now the forward group looks crazy deep and I’d be happy if this was what they went with up front.
Can’t wait for tomorrow!!

I was at the Flames game that night, my dad picked me up at the LRT station after the game
"Flames got Mullen" he says
for who? I ask
Bourgeois, Cavallini and Beers he responds
"yeah ok but what else did we give up?"
"Nothing. in fact we got a few dman thrown in"
Diabolical laughter

Late to the thread but it may have been mentioned that Tyler Toffoli and Sean Monahan played Jr. on the same team, Ottawa 67s.
Could be a big boost for Sean Monahan again. Toffoli also played for the Canucks so he already knows a lot of guys on the Flames team. Seems to be a pretty natural fit here for him, lets hope he still has some of that Stanley Cup magic which I think he does, a lot of good vibes with this player.
Monahan had 53 goals and 125 points in 127 games beside Toffoli, Prince and Ceci in his first two OHL seasons. Toffoli and Prince started their professional careers prior to the start of the 2012-13 season, while Ceci, who was a co-captain with Monahan at the start of season, was traded to the Owen Sound Attack in January.

Does the top six get changed? Or does Toffoli form a new line?
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Lucic-Monahan-Toffoli
Or maybe...
Dube-Monahan-Toffoli
To give the line more speed.
