Really don't think the Flames are going to trade Pelletier. I'm thinking Valimaki would be the outgoing player.

If the Flames could just add one more top 9 forward, we'd be looking really stacked.
Who are some targets you guys would like at/near the TDL? Jarnkrok has been mentioned quite a bit. That would nice.

Still selfishly want Kessel for meme reasons.

It is going to be hard for the Flames to fit anyone in with the cap space they have remaining.
Going after any big names probably involve moving salary out and retention just to fit them in. They are also probably going to want some cap space to deal with injuries down the stretch.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I'm fine if this is it. The team didn't need an overhaul, just some additional scoring. There it is.

Depending on source, Trade Deadline cap-space is somewhere between $875K and $935K, so yeah - not a massive amount of space, but still something there.
Increased if they move Richardson off active roster as today they're carrying 14 forwards, which yeah - impacts available deadline cap-space.
As an example, if the Flames moved Richardson off active roster and then got Seattle to eat 50%, someone like McCann would fit in.

Or maybe a trade involving Dube and his 2.3 million contract?
I think McCann could really push this team over the top. His speed and finish would add so much to this already great lineup!

Given that Treliving mentioned the importance of getting this done now, so that the adjustment period can take place sooner rather than later, I wouldn't be surprised if this is it for the Flames, aside from maybe some depth tweaks. Unless there is a major injury that needs replacing.
Given the cohesiveness of the group I don't think you want to subtract anything, you only want to add.

FWIW Dreger on TSN said the Flames and Habs may have been discussing a larger trade that was scuttled for cap reasons.
So the larger deal may have involved Chairot.

I think we don't see much else either, this is basically all they can afford unless someone is interested in Dube or trade for a guy making league minimum

I am quite okay with that. Especially if they were going to pay a ton for Chiarot.

Yeah if the bigger deal had more salary retention and something like Pelletier included to get Chairot I'm glad they backed off.
