I think it more likely works the other way - winning teams will be happy enough even if there is some tension below the surface. Look at CHI with Toews/Keith.
Kane and losing have been synonymous (like Hall, ROR, Jokinen)
ATL/WPG were bad before him, bad with him (just 1 playoffs - swept in his final year), and bad for 2 more years after he left.
BUF were bad before him, with him, and after him.
SJ was good before him, good for his first 1.25 years, and now bad. The suck started as soon as Pavelski left (who found himself in the finals with DAL that year). Thornton left 1 year later. Karlsson was there for 1 good season. The only math we can sure of is that Joes>EKs
I wouldn't touch him, but winning cures a lot of ailments.

Yes, he was there, but given what has happened to that team over the past couple of years, "surviving" is not really the word for it.

Despite his lower production in those playoffs, he was still 3rd in TOI among forwards at 19:52 - 13 seconds more than Pavelski, and then a pretty big drop to Meier at 17:06. Reg season he was 4th in TOI

Good place to go and pad his stats.
Watch Snotboy pout as his ice time and stats suffer though.

They must be getting him for minimum contract value to fit him under the cap. I hope the room blows up.
Only thing better would be if they paid to move out a contract then signed Kane for multiple years.

Tim Peel isn't making this up, unlike many of his calls as a ref.

This is the problem with so many guys trying to get the scoop, so much misinformation you can't believe anything until it is officially done.

Kassian, Keith, McDavid, Draisaitl, Snotboy, Kane..............
So easy to hate that franchise right now. More than usual. They're like the Mos Eisley cantina of the NHL.

Hopefully the arbitrator reverses the contract termination.

Guy in his precarious financial situation will sign with the highest bidder. That's all he's in it for at this point.

At this point the Oilers might be the only bidders.
