Yes, he filed a grievance. On today’s 32 Thoughts podcast they discuss that the league is currently working on outlines for next steps. Marek’s first good question of all time was what would happen if he won his grievance against San Jose after signing with another team. Sharks and Kane may agree to a settlement so that his contract can’t come back on San Jose at any point.

Is your name Chad by any chance?

Even if the Flames would be willing to sign such a massive dooshbag, I highly doubt he'd pick the Flames anyways.

Oilers badly need defence and goaltending. So naturally they are interested in a forward. Not just any forward, the locker room cancer that is Evander Kane. LOL.

I, for one, would be excited to have him with the flames on a one year deal. Obviously, I see the reasons for not signing him. But he is one of the top power-wingers in the game and plays with intensity.

I highly doubt he signs in Canada unless it's his only option

I bet, he signs in TB. That locker room is Teflon coated against Kanes level of toxicity.

Kane's skill and position is exactly what the Flames need.

It's too bad he's just such a massive wanker.

Evander Kane has had his own thread for a variety of reasons at the top of Calgarypuck for so many months it is insane.

This guy just needs to go away. I have never seen so much focus over a second liner in my life. He provides news for all the wrong reasons and is world renowned as a grade A Dbag. I pray the Flames don't sign him. Montreal is probably a good fit or Edmonton. Those places like losers it seems.

There's probably a lot of #### and shady characters around the league that haven't been unearthed in the same way. Meanwhile fans are cheering for them and wearing their jerseys simply because they're not aware of it.

I doubt Kane is alone on his Titanic deck.

I wouldn't take the risk here, but I don't think a team should be scathed for trying to add his playing ability. Although I won't feel sorry for that club if it backfires.
Try expanding to general society. Shady characters are everywhere. Only difference is pro athletes are in the spotlight.

Evander Kane is a dick and he does need to go away, but he is also a consistent 60-point player. Those are much, much better than just "second liner" numbers.

All the people that say he’s a sicko, he’s a bum, he’s a terrible human. Sure you’re probably right. As a season ticket holder I cheer for the team first and players second. I could careless who they employ. Win me games, win me a championship.

At the end of the day, there is #### human beings at every company on earth. Sometimes their the office grunt, sometimes their the site Forman and sometimes it’s the people who are paid to protect you. If you gave a #### about every thing everyone does and won’t support this or that. You wouldn’t own a thing or support anything.

Cancel culture is here to stay but in this case the only thing substantiated is he has or had addiction problem, bad with money and doesn’t give a #### about what the SJS Org told him to do, wanted out and went about it a way to get his contract terminated.

Sign him.

We employed Bertuzzi... nobody pumped his tires much over the duration of it. We knew his history. We were still able to enjoy the wins that he contributed to here.

Now we're in a time where PR is everything and social media is watching everything like hawks and making judgments.

But I think it comes down to the fact that this guy is proving to be a magnet for trouble wherever he goes.

They have forward depth issues as well. One could say it's just as much of an issue as their goaltending. Filling one of those holes without giving anything up to get it would be a good idea.

Take the Oiler rumors with a grain of salt...Dreger is the biggest Oiler fanboy ever and the whole "they would be high on his list" is just the usual "who wouldn't want to play with McDavid" fanboy stuff

Also every trade, FA, signing ect. always has Canadian teams in the running. It's clickbait and we always fall for it

And the whole fake vaccine passport thing that is illegal in Canada and the U.S.

I can't stand the 'cancel culture' phrase, makes it sound like innocent people getting crucified over nothing. There's a difference between 'cancel culture' and consequences for your actions. The guy has done stupid and/or illegal things with multiple teams. It's not like people are getting up in arms over a jaywalking ticket.
