Kane in Edmonton feels like the right accelerant to get McDavid to finally request a trade.

He may be a good fit in Edmonton. They’re no good

Oilers pick him up then hire Babcock, match made in heaven.

I would rather the Oilers didn't pick up a PPG player for nothing, that's just me though

I would love to see Kane flanking Backlund and Coleman. It'd be the ultimate forechecking line
We don't need that type of Cancer in the dressing room.

Is the NHLPA still appealing the contract termination? Would that prevent Kane from signing elsewhere until the appeal is decided?

I doubt it - more likely to see a settlement between Sharks and Kane if his case is strong enough (ie. maybe even as much as full pay the rest of the year and then buyout terms beyond that, though I doubt his case is that strong)

Keeping him in employment purgatory would be more harmful to him. Maybe an employment lawyer can chime in, but I don't think "go back to work for these people how hate you" tends to be the preferred option in wrongful termination cases.

I don’t even know if Kane has some sort of travel ban now, so it would be pretty foolish to sign him.

If anything, getting another contract right away might almost strengthen his case

Yep, the relationship is too broken now. It's about compensation. Kane is an unrestricted free agent no matter what at this point.

I personally hope the Sharks have to pay something and that it counts against their cap.

Must Have been a super super easy decision to unload 22 million off the books and rid uour locker room of distraction, cancer and bad bad bad PR
. Makes me wonder how much they improve their roster before the deadline.
Doubt it helps them in the end but still.....if we had freed up 22 million I wonder what the Braintrust that is Tre would do.

Winnipeg, Buffalo, and San Jose all had the “cancel culture BS” , looking back and presently???

Most of their coaches, management and many teammates generated the same unflattering and validated opinions, based on Evander’s behavior/ actions.

Cancel culture BS...3 times in a row?

Highly doubtful!

Cancel culture? The guy literally has done multiple moronic, and illegal, things.

That isn't cancel culture. It's consequences for one's actions.

Dude deserves to be cancelled, but its mostly because his personal life issues became so public.

There's probably a lot of #### and shady characters around the league that haven't been unearthed in the same way. Meanwhile fans are cheering for them and wearing their jerseys simply because they're not aware of it.

I doubt Kane is alone on his Titanic deck.

I wouldn't take the risk here, but I don't think a team should be scathed for trying to add his playing ability. Although I won't feel sorry for that club if it backfires.
