the sig is a joke for people who called me out on it...as I had lots of company (every GM in the league)

Nylander is not the one that got away, trust me on this

I could see them moving out all kinds of players if they think they aren't making playoffs.

I took a look the other day after I heard that Seguin was a shadow of his former self, and just laughed at Dallas and him at ten million for something like 6 more years and Benn for 4 I think.

Not only that but he slipped from a projected top 5 pick to 60th in his draft year. Perhaps there was a team or two that didn't have a pick in the first two rounds that year but the ones who did passed on him at least once and some multiple times.

Absolutely. Which makes me wonder if you could get them to retain salary, and get them for next to nothing in a package.

Seguin I'm not so sure on. But Benn I would absolutely take. Same with Radulov, Klingberg or Pavelski. ESPECIALLY Pavelski.

I dont think I'd touch and of the Stars if I were Flames GM. Don't much like any of them at their cap hits. And the Flames need all the flexibility they can get heading into the offseason.
And I believe from fro. Orange Julius type stuff Benn would never play in CGY. He hates the Flames. It's in his DNA type stuff.

Although Seguin would be fascinating, he's way too expensive even with retention.

Nope, Salary cap is way more valuable than anything those guys could offer. Look at us complain about Monahan, could you just imagine one of those boat anchors with term?
All I’d be interested is adding Pavelski at the deadline. Guy is always impressive and top notch in the playoffs. Stick Tkachuk and him in front of the net and have every puck tipped in.

Gretzky was also terrible and wouldn't help the Flames in his prime

Cost will be high for a proven guy who's got about PPG over the last 2 seasons.

Every team will want him, the cost will be a 1st+.

He also has basically a NTC, as he submits a 3 team can trade list.

Because he is over 25, I think the most he can sign is a 1 year contract. If you had one year and wanted as much ice time as possible to showcase yourself for a real money deal in the NHL, it might actually be wise to pick a dog#### team that you can shine on. He would be in their top 6 no doubt!
