Markstrom has been absolutely incredible on the road but is well below average at home
Shooting percentage is worse than the goaltending...I will give you tonight but the Flames got good enough goaltending to win every other game.

And I said give it a rest because you have said it 1000 times tonight

Eventually it will turn around for them at home but this could be a rough stretch. No rest and struggling to put pucks in. Team might get down on themselves and have a bout of low confidence issues before things turn around again and we see that early form.

Such are the ebbs and flows of an 82 game season for a group that had questionable skill in its forward ranks.

They're still looking to be a top 2 or 3 team in the division under Sutters guidance, but they need to get back to basics and re-simplify there game to a,man.

5GF in their last 4 home games.

That might have something to do with home losses.

Backlund and Coleman have to get going offensively. Defensively they’ve been great but for what they’re being paid they need to be better in the attacking zone.

You are 100% right. Their finishing has been horrible, but at least they've been creating tons of chances every game. Their overall system at home is completely dominant, but poor finishing/puck luck and average/poor goaltending is costing them.

Flames 10000% need scoring help upfront. Not enough finishers on the team.

But impossible to be disappointed with their overall play at home despite their dreadful record

Forget 5 mil for Lucic (imo he's been worth the money this season)

5 mil for Backlund and Coleman are bigger issues right now.

They need to bring more to the table for those cap hits. Playing not to get scored on is what the fourth line's job is.

They scored one goal... Markstrom didn't cost them the game unless you expect a shutout

We desperately need Monahan to find his game and push Backlund down to the 3rd line, then we need a 2nd line rw.

The lines are not complementary.

Dube - Monahan - Mangiapane (as an offensive line)
Lucic - Backlund - Coleman (as a shutdown line)

would work better. They are shutting down their own plays, the way they are set now.

That Coleman contract is going to be a pain in the ass.

He’s a solid depth forward, but when in the hell is this team going to realize that paying UFA rates for depth forwards when they’re 29/30 years old is not a recipe for success?

Coleman is on pace for 21 points this season.
