The all-star game is how it is because there’s nothing at stake, not because there’s no hitting.
And how did Trouba’s hit add to any intensity? Play stopped, Chicago came back distracted, it didn’t somehow take on a playoff atmosphere.
I like hitting in the game but these half baked comparisons to different sports or meaningless games are just pointless. Nobody has an actual reason for wanting big hits other than their cave person instincts for violence. It’s basically just “I am excited by it and I like it!” which is fine. The actual reason for not wanting them is much more relevant and serious, though.
