Well, New Jersey is commonly referred to as Jersey by the locals, and Tampa Bay is also referred to as the Tampa Lightning, but I get what you're saying. But I think there are plenty of other conjunctions we could point to and say are really stupid. Vancouver being VanCity as an example. Just stooooopid.

I love the retro’s. But god dam how I miss the C of Red jerseys. No way should they have ever been outed. Few games a year at least.

The NBA has lots of city nickname jerseys. NOLA, Cream City, HTown, SacTown to think of a few.
At least everyone is familiar with Jersey as you say.

I'm sure the red 2004 uni will be back as a 3rd at some point. I feel like they have the right people in charge of that stuff now finally, they know what the people want.

Combining both colors it's orange on the ice and very 80's.. It was an Edmonton thing to do to go back to that jersey set.
Black C/Blasty Shoulders are the best jerseys of all time along with the Yotes Kachina's.
