Tarasenko is a line driver. He would pot 50 playing with Johnny and is not happy in St. Louis, even though he is playing well.
Perunovich is leading the AHL in scoring as a defenseman. He could make Hanifin or Valimaki available for a big trade in the offseason, and has top four written all over him.
I only broach this because Tkachuk was so vocal during his brothers negotiations, but so quiet now. Dude makes me nervous.

Either way, he was a good story for this team. Finally a player that would get in someone's face. Difference maker. Too bad he had to play under the coaches he did until now. Could you imagine a focused and heavily relied on Tkachuk and Bennett under Sutter? What could of been.

Why would the ship have sailed? If the Blues were interested last summer, I don’t see why they wouldn’t be now or in the upcoming offseason. Unless of course Tkachuk being ~4 months older has had significant effect on his value. I don’t understand the logic here.
Generally speaking, I find it somewhat simplistic for people to continue to trot out ‘Tkachuk to St. Louis’. If the Flames move Tkachuk, I’m sure there would be several teams interested, and they should take the best offer. That said, the Flames have been pretty consistent in their response to Tkachuk rumours. That being the rumours are horse sh*t.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say there’s no chance Tkachuk is moved, but I would say it’s less likely that he is.

The primary reason, I am assuming, is that Tkachuk packages in the summer were based around Vladimir Tarasenko+++, who had a pair of miserable, injury-filled years since the Cup and requested a trade.
He may still want a trade, but his value is much higher with him healthy and productive this year. You may not get that +++

Flames hopefully. They shouldn’t be trading young players for older ones. We have a 5 year age gap here.

Valimaki is their most valuable trade chip.
To say nothing of his ability as a player.
They’re not trading him for Nothing Special.

Valimaki for Vilardi would be nice.
Both in the same draft year, both have had their injury woes, and both are more than capable of being in an NHL lineup. Vilardi would be a perfect middle 6 option with top 6 potential, and Valimaki as a perfect #4/5 for the Kings with #2/3 potential. Feel like it makes a lot of sense.

Yeah that might make more sense than to the Rangers. Kings' pipeline isn't as deep on D.

Zadorov unlikely to be a Flame next year, they'll be in the market for a young cost controlled LHD, so I don't know, maybe keep Valimaki?
He'll play this year. He'll learn. He'll be better for it. Kylington is a prime example

With the sluggish start for Colorado what do you think the chances MacKinnon could be considered to be moved for the right offer? Landeskog staying keeps him captain for some time and Nate has been annoyed at times in Colorado so would a kings ransom for him sway Colorado? I’d happily pay more for MacKinnon than Eichel and Gaudreau/MacKinnon was absolute magic a few years ago for the NA all star team.
Monahan + Hanifin + Valimaki + Zary + 1st in 22 and 23 both unprotected
For MacKinnon + Girard + 2nd
Gaudreau - MacKinnon - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Lindholm - Coleman
Dube - Backlund - Lewis
Lucic - Richardson - Pitlick
Duehr, Ritchie
Girard - Andersson
Kylington - Tanev
Zadorov - Gudbranson
Stone, Mackey
Markstrom
Vladar

Avs are just not trading MacKinnon.
You could keep increasing value, but there's just certain players that don't get moved during their prime.
McDavid, MacKinnon, Barkov, etc.

From a few days ago (he’s playing today against the Rangers). Sharangovich with only 3 assists in 11 games this season (and scratched a few times this year), but had 30 points in 54 games last year and he’s a 6’2 center. Valimaki for Sharangovich straight up.
