I agree, I wonder if he will be included in a trade this year.

Zadorov has been every bit as bad as I thought he would be, and I had zero expectation of him.

Zadorov has some pretty solid defensive numbers in recent games...and a goal

credit where credit is due

I thought, aside from one flub I saw, he had a very solid game. Tanev bobbled the puck more (and I’m a huge Tanev fan).

At this point if we’re not going to play Valimaki, we should try to trade him for forward help. Run with Stone as 7D.

The thing about Zadorov, is that I keep seeing him with weird positioning on the ice. It might not show up in fancy stats, but several times when Gudbranson has the puck and is looking for an outlet pass, Zadorov is standing right in front of him.

I don't think that we miss a step should Zadorov move on.

Zadorov? He wasn't outright awful but it was pretty evident that the third pair was a liability on the road and had their minutes reduced. He posted:

0.35 xGF
0.77 xGA
31.25% xG
in only 13:52 of 5v5 icetime.

When he was off the ice, the Flames were

1.51 xGF
1.64 xGA
47.94% xG
in 38:06 of 5v5 icetime

If the Flames had no one better to try I might be able to live with it but Valimaki is simply less of a liability on the road where he can get the puck moving north.

Analytics suggest he he was a liability when he was on the ice.

Apparently Valimaki is unhappy with being scratched. Thinks he was playing well enough and deserves a chance.
Not sure what it says, but it always works out well when a player complains to his hometown media.

With Zadorov, I believe 2-3-4

With Valimaki, I believe 5-1-1

Lots of other factors but, why is Valimaki not back in yet?

Might as well wait until his value is rock bottom like Bennett before we trade him.

How would people feel about a trade of both Tkachuk and Valimaki for:

- a first rounder and a top six forward or top four D; or
- a second and even better roster player

Tkachuk is really an enigma.

Valimaki could be used as a trade chip. Flames still need some scoring help. Lewis and Richardson aren't the greatest options. And Putlick isn't really doing much either. Pitlick feels like another Leivo at this early stage of the season. Glimpses of good work but nothing production wise.

I don't really care much for him to be on the team anymore but want to see Tkachuk going out for a 1-1.

Tkachuk for Laine or Konecny.. or someone like Jordan Kyrou

Having both JG and Konecny on the Flames could be interesting.

Man I think a Laine for Tachuck swap is a great idea. This team needs a big time shooter.

Yeah when Chucky is on he's entertaining, engaged, and in the middle of everything. But when he's off he is completely invisible except his below average skating which really stands out. He's gonna be getting paid too much at that 9M QO and beyond to have as many off days as he does, to me. If we have to move on from Tkachuk I can get behind it. But please extend Johnny and Mangi.

I think that the ship has sailed on the pure abundance of riches that the Blues would have offered for Tkachuk in the summer. I think that they could still be talked into Tarasenko plus Perunovich.

Tarasenko is a line driver. He would pot 50 playing with Johnny and is not happy in St. Louis, even though he is playing well.

Perunovich is leading the AHL in scoring as a defenseman. He could make Hanifin or Valimaki available for a big trade in the offseason, and has top four written all over him.

I only broach this because Tkachuk was so vocal during his brothers negotiations, but so quiet now. Dude makes me nervous.

I've yet to see any evidence that there ever was any ship.
