He singlehandedly defeated the Oilers in their play-in series. Not that I’d want anything to do with his contract, there’s no denying he raises the level of his game in the playoffs and is the definition of hard to play against. Having him would be like having 2 Elias Lindholm’s on the team, dependable puck hounds who are solid on both sides of the ice.

I don’t think Forsberg for Pitlick is gonna fly.

Have a source with the Sharks. San Jose is deciding whether to flip Hertl for a 1st and prospect or keep him and sign him to a 5 year extension. San Jose's preference is to re-sign him but it's up to the player. He wanted out with the Kane situation but since it looks like that will take care of itself, that he is open to staying. The decision will be made based on if the Sharks are in contention closer to the deadline.

Hertl for any contending team for a playoff run would be a good add. He's a solid player.

So, they could flip him for a first and then re-sign him.

I doubt that the Sharks will be in contention. But who knows these days.

Yeah, I doubt Sharks flip him in the division outside of the Flames being able to sign him long-term

It’s not really a “flip” situation.

Hertl is only 28 too. If Tre can extend him after acquiring him like he knew he could with Lindholm/Hanifin, do it, assuming he can play RW or if Sutter is confident Mang can play RW.

Lindholm and Hanifin were RFA's tho so there was some certainty they couldnt just walk. Not saying we couldnt re-sign him, just that its a bit apples and oranges for those situations.

We don't really need another left shooting injury prone centre, though. I don't know how anyone looks at Hertl in any way as comparable to an Eichel acquisition. Who wants to pay Hertl's next contract too?

Would much rather acquire Forsberg. Cost will be similar or less.

Hertl's only season with more than 22 goals came with an absurd (~20%) shooting percentage. If you adjust it to his next best rate then he scored under 30 goals that season too.

His play driving stats are better than Monahans but the results really arent at all. I dont see any advantage to this move.

Hertl has a very strong MNTC. Can specify just 3 teams he can be traded to. Though if the Sharks make some sort of re-signing deal he’d probably waive for a PO run.

Yeah I'll take Blake Bortles over Blake Comeau.

Anyone have insight into this Finn, Niko Ojamaki? 26yr, Shoots R, RW.

Recently made the jump from the Finnish & Swedish Elite leagues, to the KHL, where he is now second in KHL scoring.

Wonder if he still always drives the wing all the way to behind the opponent's net only to lose the puck seconds after.

Apparently Valimaki is unhappy with being scratched. Thinks he was playing well enough and deserves a chance.

I agree and Zadarov has not been solid at all

Thought he would be in last night being back to back. With the zadorov/ guberson not being nearly as bad as I thought they would be , it’s going to be tough for him to get back in on a nightly basis. Sorry but I don’t see Sutter taking out size/grit unless he really needs to .
