I think the Flames forcheck is just fine. What's changed is what they do after with their chances. Seems the default is get the puck to the point for a shot . Teams are catching on.

3rd game in 4 nights, and they've had a compressed schedule with very little roster turnover.

Our last handful of opponents also have some damn good top defensemen who are tough to forecheck... Josi, Heiskanen, Burns, Petry, Brodie.

One of these things is not like the other.

Feels like the flames aren't playing smart with the puck. Turnovers, poor puck decisions in the offensive zone, allowing quick/easy transition for the opposition.

I also think that teams are starting to exploit the flames d, by forechecking them hard.

Jeff Petry is a lot better than you realize.

You’re right. It’s no real mystery.

Shot attempts overall were 23-18 and one team had more power plays... it's really not as bad as you're making it sound.

That was 5-on-5, not including any power plays.

I think half of Calgary's shot attempts came on one shift with Kylington/Dube/Backlund out there rapidfiring. The overall flow of the period seemed to tilt Toronto's way 5v5

Yup. They had about two total good minutes that helped even it out. The rest was all Toronto.

Sensing a tone in your posts tonight.

I'm just telling it like I see it. Not sure what your problem is, but it doesn't add to a game thread.

Relax and try to enjoy the game. It's a fine game of entertainment on a friday night, not a final exam. Lay off this intensity and incessant need to correct people and tell them what they are seeing.

Incorrect - that's overall. Though to be fair the Leafs only had one shot attempt between both power plays.

You said lately...not just this game

You can't honestly look at that period and think the penalties should be 2-0

Edit: But if they're doing a 360, I can't wait until they come full circle.
Lindholm has been more and more "Meh" the past few games, same with Gaudreau.

I feel like tkachuk is the only one really working his tail off and playing well on the line.
