If they’re in love with Krebs, they are in love with him.

And Tuch is easily top 6 on most teams, making only $5.5M - for 5 more years counting this year. He’s a beast at 6’4” 220 and he’s got great wheels. He’s an XXL Mangiapane. Same age and everything.

And injury prone? Aside from this year, he’s only missed serious time in one season.

30 other teams could have sent in offers yet people calling Treliving an idiot...

Are you all smarter than 30 other GMs who didn't beat the Vegas offer?

Yup.

Since day 1 of this thing and Vegas being part of it, Krebs was the one name that was associated with any deal.

Right or wrong, he is the guy Buffalo identified as must get.

The Flames could do nothing about that.

That wont stop the negative nellies from whining that "Bradley" somehow screwed up mind you, but its readily apparent that is the truth of the matter.

Disappointed this didn’t go our way. Thought we could have beat that package, but I don’t know much about Krebs.

Still like our team.

I hate that he ended up in our division. I would have cared about him going basically anywhere else. I hope Eichel makes a full recovery from surgery and lives a long, healthy, pain free life, but is bad at hockey.

I think this could be the case this year. But Eichel still has 4 more years after that. He'll likely make a big difference at some point.

It'll be interesting to see if he ends up like Hall in which the team always disappoints.

You're presuming GMs plan ahead or think rationally. If they get a chance at acquiring a top 10 player in the league, they do it and sort out cap issues after. They have a few months to figure it out anyway

Oh, I think that first round pick could be very high. Vegas has looked awful, and now they lost Tuch.

Do you not follow this team? Are you sucked in by small sample size recency bias?

Flames are the definition of a mediocre franchise. This was a team many thought should consider rebuilding as this core has really done nothing. Eichel was going to be the highest potential player we could get in a deal and for a franchise that refuses to rebuild it makes a lot of sense to go get him.

I feel Calgary could have and should have topped that offer and where they are and where they want to be it made sense to spend more than what Vegas did

No Eichel, no extensions (not even talk of negotiation), no core changes, no real, valiant attempt..at anything.

What. Are. You. Doing. Treliving?

You know, besides defining insanity for the umpteenth time.

I’m seeing so many of these posts, each more ridiculous than the last.

This isn’t nhl 21. You can’t just enter a trade and hit submit. The other team has to say yes.

Maybe they didn’t like our players, maybe Eichel didn’t want to come here.

Bradley (lol) can’t just force other teams to accept his proposals.

Sure, Buffalo wanted Krebs.

Let me ask you - how does Vegas have THE prospect while the Flames have a trash pile when Vegas has been better every single year by such a massive margin since they entered the league.

They have a significantly better management team.

True, I’m just trying to speculate what they could even do? Who is expendable on that team that is making big bucks? It’s an interesting part of this now.

Wow Buffalo got nothing great. A non top 5 pick. A top 6 forward. And a decent but nothing crazy good prospect.

Damn. Flames equivalent would be:

Zary
Mangiapane
1st
3rd

I love Mangiapane but id do it in a second.

Think this probably is why Popowich mentioned LTIR last night.

The Vegas advantage here is they didn’t need to send any extra or bad cap to Buffalo to get deal done because of LTIR.

No idea what their plan is when everyone is healthy but it’s going to be annoying when Eichel returns for the playoffs and they are $10M over the cap.

As someone mentioned above, a package of Dube, 2 of the 3 former 1sts, and a 1st is a significantly better package.

If you're not able to beat that Vegas offer, that's on Treliving. If Buffalo was that in love with Krebs to prefer him over 2 of Zary/Pelletier/Coronato, Adams should be fired asap.

If Kevin Adams is so in love with Krebs that he prefers him over 2 of Zary/Pelletier/Coronato, he shouldn't be a GM.

Even then, that package is so tiny that you can keep adding and adding from Treliving's side until it becomes hilariously dumb how much Buffalo liked Krebs or until its a ridiculous overpay, which that Vegas package clearly isn't even close to an overpay.

So... 2 out of his 4 NHL seasons?

Tuch has only been above 0.5PPG in 2 of his 4 seasons and his rates aren't anything special. He's a solid middle 6 on all teams but that's about it. Maybe top 6 on about 50%.

Not even close to comparable to Mangiapane

How do you know they wanted Krebs so badly? How do you know they hold Krebs up on a pedestal? Do you know what the Flames offered?

I'm sure Buffalo thinks Coronato is better than Krebs. I just doubt the Flames would want to trade Coronato.

Buffalo would want Wolf, but they already got a goalie from the Sam Reinhart trade.

But I agree with the conclusion. It's amazing that after competing for so long, Vegas doesn't really have any bad contracts.
