Conte was always the right move for Tottenham going back to when it was first rumoured in the Summer.
They needed more of a taskmaster to whip this team into shape (more like Sutter and the Flames).
Conte might not be somebody you expect will be there for 3+ years, but for the next 2 years this was always the right hire.
Just even more frustrating they didn't do this in the summer and are now on the back leg for this season because of it

Like a gentleman's agreement?
Good move for The Spurs. He'll keep the players and Levy honest.

So far levy is 1 for 1 on known gentlemans agreements when all things agreed take place, bale to madrid
I imagine conte gets something in writing though about transfers though, he would be naive not too and I dont think he is.
Took me a second to remember why you out The there haha

I think Spurs will be providing us with more entertainment for quite a while.
I’ve had a lifetime of it.

Always was and also what paratici wanted as well from everything believed, best way I can look at it now is conte had even more leverage to get what he wanted in terms of incomings
The sutter comparison makes a ton of sense, wouldnt shock me if its 3 seasons and then a return if a former coach
The back leg part is frustrating, but it is still earlyish, only 5 points back of 4th and 10 points back of chelsea who will fall back while liverpool and city run away with it.

I imagine his attitude takes a turnaround, I dont see him disrespecting conte, he was one of only a few players who really liked mourinho

I’m looking forward to this. Apparently he got £150m as money to rebuild and that should help plug some holes. Lord knows there are a few! I expect to see a change right away and probably significantly over the next month or two.

I believe in the Jays.

Hopefully he starts well or they could fire him before we get to the transfer window.

His attitude might improve but his eyes are still on the exit door. Nothing's changed there. And I can't see how Conte can mend a fence between Kane and Levy.
Time will tell on that one.
What this has shown is Levy isn't as smart as he thinks he is. This is him patching up his own problem. He's had to give in to demands he wasn't prepared to meet in the summer in favour of the cheap alternative.

Honestly, I'm not even getting too excited that Conte is coming though. I feel for this in the spring and we ended up with Mourinho-lite, so we'll see what happens.

18 month contract. I feel like Spurs are hoping Conte can do too much in a short amount of time. I think this ends in a disappointing fashion but willing to watch.
They need to rebuild with a new vision.

I’m pretty confident with Paratici and Conte though. I think that’s a good combination, and maybe they can get things rolling. I thought I saw this was 18 months with an option, and that option might be contingent on Champions League?

CL this year or next? That seems like a tall order but who knows. One more solid defender and a creative midfielder could do wonders for the team

He's only getting 18 months? That's half what he should be getting.
And that's not shrewd by Levy, that's not giving him a prudent timeframe to build his squad, develop chemistry and structure.

Think its conte's timeline not levys
I imagine the extension is a mutual thing

I'm basically considering this past weekend a win for Spurs! Conte obviously got some assurances that they're going to spend and rebuild that squad, which has been necessary for a few years now. I guess there are two winners from Saturday...Spurs and Ole.

You forgot Arteta. He won on Saturday too.
Conte gets the honour of spending the Kane money.

* Doesn’t trust Levy with funds
* Has his ease of exit to a bigger club
Although, in fairness Tuchel initially signed an 18 month with Chelsea, but was extended 6 months later after winning CL.
