Well the one ever-present factor. Apparently he was on £1m a year with Brighton. We paid Mourinho £15m and Nuno £7m. So if he “only” got £4m at Spurs, it’s about 4x his current salary.

also, let's be honest here: of course Spurs are a step up from Brighton. Brighton's ceiling is Tottenham's floor, so I'm sure Potter would be interested. Probably can't get him until the summer though.

Never understand why people say manager x would never leave a non big 6 club for a big 6 one, or even some saying no one wants the United job
The resources are such a huge step up from anywhere else

I am sure he will get a solid bump once BHA qualifies for CL.
P.S. Everyone is so serious today.

I’m not super serious today, I know you think BHA could make it into the top four if things go their way. I think they are more likely pressing to finish 6-8th. That’s not a terrible thing for them!

I meant "serious" in the the sense that, of course, Potter would go to Tottenham - I was just taking a little shot at you. Barring an actual miracle (BHA finishing top 4).

Truthfully, if I’m Potter (or his agent) and Tottenham is calling , I’m asking for a whack of cash, 4 year contract and a cash payout if they sack him. I point to last year and the off-season and note that 8 games in he’s got Brighton right with us but playing more attractive football.

Brighton aren't about to let Potter walk away for nothing. No way Levy spends cash to buy a manager.

Potter is going to be a hot commodity for so many EPL teams willing to pay. Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle?
He could hold out for bidders

Lol and in the end it sounds like Conte will be at Spurs anyway. I suppose the hardest possible way is still better than not at all, but still pretty hilarious.

man Ole is playing 4D chess here. Beating Spurs not only saved his job, but also took his most realistic replacement off the market, it seems. If I weren't a United fan, it'd be pretty hilarious. Can't wait to have Klopp, Guardiola, Tuchel and Conte managing at rival clubs while we're stuck with Ole.

It's OK, we still have Arteta for some entertainment. Between he and Ole, still plenty of amusement to come, I'm sure!

I thought you weren't that keen on Conte?

Anyways the sacking was always going to happen.
Not as a result of the fans booing Nuno but moreso as a result of the Levy out chants.

I don't need to be "that keen" on him to take him over the status quo.

I stand by that. He has his warts obviously, but I won't deny he's a really good manager.

For me, that idea of whipping some guys into shape and giving them some structure is exactly what I'm hoping for. Some of our players are lazy and haven't shown anything. Hopefully Conte would come in and lay down the law.
Honestly, I'm not even getting too excited that Conte is coming though. I feel for this in the spring and we ended up with Mourinho-lite, so we'll see what happens.

I guess thats what happens when Nuno shaved his glorious beard! Its like cutting Samson's hair!
He transforms into an off-brand, low-budget Mourinho.

I wonder how Conte and Levy are going to play this.
Conte is in a negotiating position of strength given that both parties know that they might be 24 hours away or a few days away from a bigger position becoming available.
Both know also that Levy is getting heat from the fanbase and can't afford the same shambles as last time.
