I want to point out that at the time of this goal the shots were 8-1 Calgary.


Even though the Penguins had a 5-3 later in the first to get their top players into the game more, I like the fact that the Flames played when the puck dropped.


I got so tired of hearing what they say in the media about starting on time and not doing it. The whole waiting to see what the opponent does, and only having 2 shots half way through the first. Waiting to be down 0-2 to start playing.

All prior to when Sutter was behind the bench. This is so refreshing and exciting.

Dino reality is that last season many people saw Kylington for what he was in VERY limited minutes and in a very tightly controlled role. You and (not just you) rolled along to appeal to authority and called people out because of, I have no clue.


I think you know the Flames and I think you’re a knowledgeable poster and I know you love and follow the game. Fact is Kylington was good last year and previous to that. He was offensively minded he moved the puck (duplicative of Giordano skill set I would say, fair) he made some infrequent mistakes. But he would get punished for these mistakes- to a (very obviously) way way way higher degree than similar D for making similar mistakes (Stone comes to mind, heck even vets come to mind).

When the average person views Kylington OBJECTIVELY- not with Flames rose coloured glasses but a true evaluation of how he’s playing like watch the games last year- he was pretty damn good.

In fact the difference to be perfectly honest between this year and last is merely Giordano exit and the style of skill set being woefully unavailable and this he stands out massively. But not much changed.

Kylington is not just an NHL Dman that the Flames have massively mistreated and mishandled, he’s a top 4. Sutter said the other night when asked- he screwed up a D assignment on a break in on his side. Every D man on this team does that at least once a game. Such BS and such bias by both Sutter and the Flames. Kylington is a NHL Dman. He’s better than Zadorov, he’s better than Stone, he’s better than Gudbranson, and he’s got the agility and speed to stay and be in position- and his passing (other than Hanifin) is the best of the Dcorps.

Then all summer you trash him and say oh ya he’s on waivers and nobody took him pretending it’s as simple as that and that contracts don’t exist. Kylington is the Bennett of defence it’s just thankfully he hasn’t demanded a trade yet (but honestly probably rightfully could).

I was definitely wrong about Coleman. I am not so sure about other stuff I posted but I am sure you could find it. Doesn’t change much to be honest. Happy to admit it actually. I don’t know if you remember this but prior to last season I talked about how the Senators would be good and make the playoffs. Lost a bet to jayswin. But my goodness by seasons end- I honestly wasn’t far off. You thought and acted like I was saying division 7 Rec team would win the cup. So while you were definitely correct (Sens didn’t make playoffs) your dismissive tone and general condescending attitude is what I take issue with. Not what you state or believe to be honest.

Your posts come across like you think you’re the ultimate arbiter of hockey opinion so I’m just letting you know that, newsflash, you’re not.

We have a guy calling me out for saying #58 playing awesome and teams should have grabbed him off waivers?

I don’t think I said a bad word about Gudbranson, I can’t remember. I think I was silent on it but maybe I did. I remember not being super jazzed about it.

I DEFINITELY remember being kinda blown away nobody picked up Kylington for free and if I was a GM 110% would have. That’s a crazy giveaway. But I am coming to learn that actually most NHL GM’s seem quite bad actually at asset management.

Hahaha I agree (honestly and I think it’s funny) it was a bad bet. HOWEVER you must admit I was damn close. I saw them as an emerging team.

Anyway I am calling you out for being wrong about Kylington which is fine. It’s not like you’re an axemurderer im just saying you were wrong about him. You were. Own it.

Also I have no clue who that guy is agreeing with me haha also I have already told you I was very very wrong about Coleman. I didn’t know the type of player he would be and I’ve been blown away at how good he is. Very pleasant surprise.
