Do what the Flames did with Peters, put him on leave until you've completed the investigation. I'd say it's better to have one game without him behind the bench and bring him back if you're comfortable he did no wrong than it is to let him coach with this hanging over him and then let him go anyway.

But, there was nothing preventing either him nor the team from having him sit back for a game until he had had his hearing. The moment there was noise about Akim Aliu's allegations, Treliving had Peters removed from the Flames bench. It took at least another week before he was fired.

A person with any sense of shame or guilt would have done something at the time of the incident, 11 years ago. Knowing what I know now, I don't expect any better of Quenneville. His boss, on the other hand, has to play things out carefully.

That is a decent point.

(By the way, I saw that your post was autocorrupted: ‘…having hamster back for a game’. I liked it better before you fixed it. Who says a hamster can't coach hockey!)

Good, see ya JQ. Finally pay the price for your inaction, albeit 10 years too late.

As for being the right hire, who knows... but I hope it works out for the Panthers.
Fellas, I missed this. In what setting did he say this? (link?) Tried quickly googling it, and nothing relevant came up.

Fehr was an advisor to the NHLPA for a while in there. He was made executive director Dec. 18, 2010.

He had just joined them as an advisor, but he wasn’t made president until Dec. 2010. But he was president when Beach reached out I think.

According to Wikipedia
He quit the NBAPA in December of 2009 and shortly thereafter he became and advisor to the NHLPA. In December 2010 he was voted into his current role.

Torts? Not sure how that makes any sense. What's Boudreau up to?

I think Julien, Torts or Boudreau were the options as they need a proven coach to come in and replace a proven coach

I've warmed to torts over the years. Does a good interview and did better than nearly everyone thought with the jackets.

Enjoyed his interview in that 9-7 game with us, or whatever ridiculous score was.

I see a lot of similarities in Darryl and Torts. Torts is more emotional and expressive, but I think their philosophies are very close.
