Moving Theodore is not a good thing for Vegas. I get doing it because a player like Eichel doesn't come along often, but just evaluating Theodore and his importance to the team, it's a big loss for them.

Would telekinesis help in this situation?

Ya I was surprised to hear him as even a possible option
Hes on track to be a top pairing guy, if hes not already
Cant imagine vegas is adding much at all if its him

I'd never trade Theodore for a potentially broken Eichel if I was Vegas.

Theodore for Eichel 1-for-1 might even be a reasonable deal.

Hanifin apparently wasn't out there for morning skate.
Hypothetically. Wait. Think I did that wrong.

They would pretty much be torpedoing their season if they did, not to mention the question marks in the future is Eichel doesn't get back to his old form.

I think that Vegas losing Theodore would be akin to Calgary losing Hanfin. There is not a ready replacement in the system for what they bring to the table, and I would call both a non-starter.

Defencemen are available every off-season.
Elite centres are not.
It makes absolute sense for Vegas to trade Theodore in a deal for Eichel, and it makes complete sense for the Flames to trade Hanifin in a deal for Eichel.
…I think it would be absolutely stupid of Buffalo to target either player though. It’s not what they should be looking to bring back.

I am doubtful buffalo takes any 1 for 1 deal, which means it would still probably be Theodore/Krebs/Pick for Eichel. Vegas in trouble if anyone is ready to return before the playoffs as they are currently already using LTIR for cap relief, and are in a bad spot come the off-season without enough money coming off the books to be able to fit everyone and fill the holes, as it seems almost everyone expiring next year is low cost.
It's hard to see how Vegas can deal away enough salary to not be cap constrained next year, keep enough of their current productive pieces to be competitive this year, and get Eichel.

Agreed, I would think a blue chip prospect and 1st round selection is a must
For a team like Vegas, Buffalo I would think would want more
As their pick could be late in the draft
Vegas however I would think has to include a roster player for cap reasons.

Now Vegas has signed Ben Hutton. Lots of buzz on Twitter with Eichel and Vegas right now.
When it comes to Theodore he could easily be routed to a third team like we do with our Monahan proposals.
Maybe Vegas punts this year and keeps their pick and sends their 23 1st?

Something is up in Vegas. They have Ben Hutton on capfriendly as "registration pending" and he didn't exist there on Tuesday. Vegas is about to make a move by the looks of it.

A poll of all 31 NHL coaches last May had Theodore at #4 in Norris voting.

Nooooooooo.
Don’t want this guy in our division if he’s not playing for us.
