I think Gaudreau gets more than a minimal pick at the deadline even as a rental.

They won’t move Gaudreau at the deadline if they are in it. Contract extension, Eichel, or nothing if they are in Johnny is staying in my opinion

From my perspective, I like a lot of the trade proposals from the Flames fans then the Vegas ones. Krebs is a nice prospect from what I've heard, but still as much of a magic bean as any other mid-to-late first rounder like the Calgary ones being tossed around (Zary, etc.)

Many ways to read that.
By “we’re in trouble now” is he saying that he and you are in trouble because he can’t grant you that wish (as in Eichel is coming to Vegas) or “we’re in trouble” as in Vegas is in a tough spot to make a deal?

You couldn’t dream up a clearer indicator that he is not up to the task.

lol. No one should be scared of that core..

I would hope that Treliving is not acquiring eichel without knowing for sure that he can extend gaudreau. I think it would be a mistake to let Gaudreau go… especially if eichel is acquired. The only reason to get eichel is if he can add to the team rather than get him only to lose both Johnny and tkachuk. If it’s clear to Treliving that both Gaudreau and tkachuk will be gone within a year then I don’t think young assets should be traded away.

Thanks for the Laugh
Those 3 players are better than any Flame. As is Theodore
Stanley Cup final, 2 conference finals, 4 playoff appearances, 1 presidents trophy in 4 years.
But lol that core doesn’t scare anyone. Does our core?

Maybe but if they get Eichel and Johnny walks the Flames need to keep Tkachuk which they can do for at least 1 more year. 2 more years with he and Sutter on contract it is time to win now.
The only way I see Johnny moved is if the team is completely out at the deadline and a new dea can’t be hammered out.
I do think Treliving is putting his focus on Eichel and once that is resolved one way or the other he shifts his focus to Johnny. Johnny is fine to negotiate in season so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is fine waiting until the Eichel dust settles before that extension gets serious

I don’t think there’s much argument that those 3 are better than any Flame at their position. Though Gaudreau may be a better pure offensive winger than Stone and Tanev is a better pure defensive defenceman than Pietrangelo.
That said, The Flames can’t match the top 2 forwards on Edmonton either and their top D is pretty good. But are we that afraid of them? Vegas is looking a lot thinner these days, partly because of injuries but also because they aren’t defending or goaltending very well. They aren’t playing as up tempo a game. Karlsson and Marchessault are looking pretty average.

LOL. Thanx for the Golden Knights history lesson...
you know stone and peterangelo weren't on the Knights when they went to the finals right?
They won't do anything in the playoffs for the next few years with that goaltending problem.

I'd say he's the top NHL insider by a wide margin now. He has been breaking more news than pretty much everyone combined in the past year.

I don't really think the Flames should go after Eichel, so this news doesn't really bother me.
Is Krebs really a much better prospect than Zary or Pelletier? I see people saying it like it is obvious, but when I look at their draft positions, stats and accomplishments, they seem like they are all pretty much the same caliber. I haven't seen them enough to do the eye test though. The only difference seems to be that Krebs has a few NHL games already, but it isn't like he blew the roof off the building in those games.

My point is clear. Flames fans laughing at the top players in Vegas with Eichel as non threatening must be joking. Maybe he was?
Are we afraid of Edmonton? Some Flames fans I know are. One of the main reasons I want Eichel on the Flames is the ability to match weapons with them a little more evenly.
McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Nuge, Puljujarvi right now is significantly better than Lindholm, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, Coleman
Add Eichel to that Flames group
Eichel, Lindholm, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane
With-Coleman, Backlund maybe Dube I think that is an incredibly deep and immensely talented forward group

I am aware. Pietrangelo went and won a cup the year after Vegas made the finals and they dumped Nate Schmidt to get him. They won the presidents trophy last year.
Goaltending problem? Lehner is a top end goalie and Brossoit is more proven than Vlader
They have done more in the playoffs in their short existence than the flames have done in 30 years.
Yet you claim now if they add Eichel they won’t win anything? I don’t share that same outlook. I think Eichel makes Vegas the clear best team in the league and I think he also turns Calgary into a legit top 5 team as well

Yea with Bob McKenzie semi-retiring Servalli has definitely taken over as the biggest hockey insider. Friedman is the only one that comes close.

But Marchessault and Karlsson were. They’re still there, they’re still good, and will continue to be good.
If you have a way to prevent Jack Eichel going to that team, I would argue you have a professional obligation to make certain it doesn’t happen.

It's important to pay attention to what he actually said vs. what people speculate about what he said. People try to add their own spin on his stuff to make themselves seem more connected.

For me Lehner is great when he is on his game but he is one of the most wildly inconsistent starters in the league. His yearly save percentage looks like an ecg. Maybe this is one of the good years he posts a .920-.940 and takes them all the way. Brossoit is a solid backup for sure. And I think Logan Thompson who they have in the A is starting to look like one of the best goalies not in the show, think they might have something there eventually, I feel like he may become the guy for them in the next couple of years if his emergence down there is for real.

Lehner is sooooo good that the Sabres, Islanders and Blackhawks didn't want him around, and that the Leafs only wanted a 5th rounder from Vegas for him.
Stone is good, Eichel is broken and Pietrangelo is like a younger Bouwmeester. Nope. not scared.
