The Hawks should have a $5 million fine plus a 10% cap penalty for 3 years plus they should forfeit at least one first round pick.

How can the Coyotes lose draft picks for cheating in a draft combine while they fine the Blackhawks for enabling sexual assault?

Apparently an intern was targeted at a party after they won the cup. Was the intern male or female?

What I don't understand is why didn't they just throw the video coach under the bus instead of covering it up? Like what was there to gain for all these guys?

The whole thing was a side distraction not associated with the core of the team. John Doe had not contributed to the current position. Of course you’d want to keep that separate. As mentioned above they should have just canned Aldrich right their and let the cops deal with it. Management has that ball not players.

My understanding is they covered it up so it wasn't a distraction for the team at the time. It happened in the 2010 conference finals.

What scares me as much as with men, but what about the girls who are being coached. Look at u.s. gymnastics. Ugh.

I have said it years ago - Chicago is a classless team, period. I always thought Toews, Kane, Sharp and Keith were all a bunch of disrespectful idiots (some of the stuff on ice I thought was disrespectful - taunting Shawn Thornton when he was bleeding, taunting Brendan Morrisson when he was injured, the rumoured slur against Iginla during the playoffs, etc).
Looks like they are all going to burn for this. I hope it all comes out and everyone who played a part in covering it up (and apparently taunted the victim??!!) is exposed and shot into the sun.

Better be
If saying "turn off the N music" ends a career surely sweeping this under the rug and then giving the guy a reference for his next job should.

They should stamp XXXX through the names every person involved in the cover-up and Aldrich for both the Stanley Cup and the Replica Stanley Cup. Remove their names from official records. Those who were not involved should not be crushed along with the vermin.

Yeah, except Jonathan Toews had power. Still has power. But certainly had the power, coming off a 29-point playoff and Conn Smythe at age 21, to do the right thing.
If Jonathan Toews had said “I’m not standing for this”, the ####ing Earth would have moved.
But he didn’t.

Male intern. It happened outside the residence of Aldrich. Aldrich, intern had shared a taxi with another employee. Aldrich asked the intern twice if he wanted to come in for a drink and he declined twice. Aldrich asked a 3rd time, this grabbing the intern’s crotch.

You know what though? at 21 years old he could very well, in his own thoughts believe he did the right thing, or didn't know what the right thing to do was. Or didn't know who to believe, what to believe. Whats the "hockey thing" to do? whats the human thing to do? Whats the right thing to do? Not only that but he, along with most of his teammates, could have a tough time believing a 6'3" 185" 20 year old hockey player would "let" a 5'8 150lb video coach assault him. They'd have to question if it was assault or consensual and given its a he said/ she said situation and the physical differences between the two I don't think it'd be a stretch to believe it was consensual.
As for the management and coaching staff, the cover up, or lack of timely investigation, and future endorsing of this creep are the bigger story here.

He was also 21 and new to the league...I am not saying he did nothing wrong but he certainly isn't in the same boat as coaches and managers

And apparently this assault was an open secret and John Doe was bullied and mocked by his teammates over the next couple of seasons. WTF???????

It's possible that other members of the Blackhawks were victims of Aldrich too, so I'm not going to be too harsh on them. I will be satisfied if they just support John Doe.

Btw anyone wanna start the clock on the Blackhawks changing their logo?
I give it nine months. They’ll probably announce a “review” before the end of the regular season to “consult with different design teams to create a logo that truly represents what the Chicago Blackhawks are all about” or some bull####.
