I desperately want to see a 1-2-3 punch of:
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Eichel - Dube
Coleman - Monahan or Backlund - Pitlick

Flames beat one of the top teams on the road with their backup goalie
If you can't enjoy that without being negative why even be a fan at all? This is supposed to be fun.

Perhaps you've misunderstood.
I am not questioning whether Sutter knows what he's asking for.
I am questioning if he got a good look at the play.

Okay I’ll give it a go:
Francis: “Did you guys go through the rational behind starting Dan Vlader? We knew he was going to be on the trip, but I think a lot of people were surprised to see him today”
Sutter: “…………… I wasn’t… surprised to see him. I told him a couple days ago he was going to start against Washington. I think we talked about that before the trip and I said he was going to play games, and he will”
Francis: “well one of the things you said you’d factor in was starts against previous opponents and the last time he played against Washington they lost 8-1”
Sutter *quickly*: “but I’m sure in your…. I’m sure when you go through it all you’ll also see that Markey has started 3 in a row and you can also check his record against Washington”

what if it was
Monahan - Eichel - Mangiapane
Monahan and Eatbread would both score 30+

Kylington didn't seem to lose any ice time after the goal so Sutter must not have thought it was a gigantic mistake.

Reporters are trying to make him say something...giving players too much praise for being half decent or picking up a win or two has been part of the problem the last however many years.
Played pretty good? great, now play better.

Nah, I list my lines like this:
1A - Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
1B - Mangiapane - Eichel - Dube
1C - Coleman - Monahan or Backlund - Pitlick
Because Championship quality teams roll three awesome lines.

Or he's a good enough coach to know that instantly punishing players isn't the way to help them grow. He knows at this stage part of his job is to turn one of Valimaki or Kylington (or both) into top-4 defencemen. The team needs it.

Never made much sense to me to bench someone for a single mistake. But it just highlights the concerns in Kylington’s overall game. Which they probably expose every practice.
Good to see Sutter working him in. I anticipate he takes a big leap this season.

Agreed.
That's why this year, I think the team to beat is Florida, not Tampa or Vegas or such.

Coleman and Backlund really locked it down in that last minute...losing a point on the road there would have been a disaster. I bet those two get a lot of work late in games where its tied or they have the lead.

I think you’re right. Having Spencer Knight to backstop Bob is a great advantage.

Surely once Sutter reviews the play he'll see it your way. And if not, he should review it again.
LOL.
