Apparently with the disk replacement it can be 8 weeks after surgery if all goes well.
Positive outlook by you, but don't you think a neck may take longer than a broken thumb? Eight weeks is broken digit territory for recovery, a broken bone in your neck MAY just be a little longer.

Pat Brisson said in his interview with Marek that it would be 3 to 4 months.
They're also really anxious to get this deal and the surgery done now because Eichel wants to play in the Olympics.

I'm fascinated to see where he lands and for what though given that this will be done soon, and you'd think the Sabres will want it sorted by the time their season gets going to not have that dark cloud over the team. Us being on the short list just adds to the intrigue.
If they get Eichel, I think Gaudreau and Tkachuk’s desire of re-signing increases. Probably wouldn’t be able to keep both but it would make for a fun playoffs

Imagine having an entire line playing together at the Olympics?
I keep having this feeling that if the Flames come out in front on this that Treliving will manage to keep the good parts of the active roster intact in the trade. Sutter was his "all in" last hurrah, so I doubt he butchers the top 6 for Eichel and keeps the package to our better but unproven prospects and picks.
Obviously money will have to move.. but I see some shock and awe coming with the reveal of the package.

I completely agree about the higher probability of re-signing both players.
I haven't looked closely at the team salary structure heading into next off-season, so not sure if any big contracts are coming off or what kind of flexibility there might be, but is the second part a foregone conclusion, or is there a chance that they could make the dollars work?
Would be pretty cool to keep a trio like that together for a few years, especially if you're mortgaging a big part of the future to make it happen in the first place.......
^^ Also, if you have to factor in losing one of Gaudreau or Tkachuk because of salary constraints next year, then should that be considered in the acquisition cost. So in that case it would be the 4 high-end pieces plus losing one of Gaudreau or Tkachuk?
And if it is, does that change our interest in this potential deal, or do we say to heck with it and we're all in for this year?
