I really do feel that with the Sabers rumored ask of multiple pieces, BT signed all these players to plug the holes that would come from a trade. Stone and Gudbranson... Must be one of Valimaki or Kylington going in the package. Richardson and Lewis, help backfill a Mony/Dube piece going the other way until Eichel is healthy. The delay in trading Eichel, the rosters being set and Eichel going on LTIR to help Calgary stay under the cap. It sure seems to add up with every last little thing that took place the last few months. Unless I am seriously bias and looking for any possible rationale to make it happen...

If they don't make the deal now then then really the only hope is the draft...I don't see a team getting off to a slow start and getting desperate and offering a bigger package in the season, just means their picks will be worth more if they don't turn it around.

Even around the draft...a team might be more inclined to wait and see if Eichel tries to force something once his NMC kicks in.
