That fire fighter poll looked really suspect. It had over 50% of respondents with greater than 80k income and had half the NE participants as any other quadrant.
The Janet brown one looked better as they filled spaces in the survey by age and quadrant to get a representative sample. Both though we’re online based which tends to skew progressive compared to IVR calling.

It would be interesting to see a straight random phone sample to bench mark the other side of respondents.

Since it seems like there's some interest in Marilyn North Peigan for Ward 7, she's doing an AMA on reddit right now. It's not super-busy compared to some candidate AMAs, so if you've got questions I'm sure she'd love to hear them. https://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/com..._be_your_city/
edit: Seems like there may be a reddit outage at the moment...

			Ward 2
 Mayor - Damery
 Councillor - Wyness
 Fluoride - Yes
 Time Change - probably Yes
 Equalization - No
Senate - I don't even know who is running, are you allowed to spoil the vote?
School - To edit: also maybe Wen, I don't really know.

I really wish we didn't have to vote senate or school, I just don't think any of us have enough information to make a good choice. And I really wish elected representatives had the balls to do their job with the other 3 questions.

I read on a community forum that many of the Magliocca signs you are seeing were placed on property which supported him last election. Many people who do not support him this go round had these signs placed on their property without consent, just the assumption they support Magliocca again. Many not happy about it either. Not sure whether that is factual, but seems like a Magliocca thing to do.

On an awesome note, I'm now seeing 'Joe Has To Go' signs appearing in front of Magliocca's big boulevard signs.

Wyness for the win Ward 2!

It's because it's a stupid meaningless symantec boondoggle meant to deflect political responsibility for failing to live up to an impossible promise. Alberta gives more to confederation than we get out most years, because our personal incomes are higher, anyway you build the formula will come to that result or else your arguing against the very idea of collective governance. And Canadas biggest problem on the global stage certainly isn't that we don't have enough small stakeholder voices in the room, it's that we aren't collectively big enough to matter on many issues.

That being said, I looked a bit at other candidates I wouldn't mind if Naomi Withers won, her website seems to have some good information and a little bit more substance than a lot of the other candidates websites. I do get mixed feelings about her section on planning and development.

I'm going to actually vote for school trustee for the first time too (David Barrett), mostly just because I know him a little bit from the community association and have worked on a project with him.

Excellent, I looked into trustees more than usual because of the UCP curriculum quackery, and David Barrett won my vote. Glad to hear people who know him have good things to say.

I agree Naomi Withers looks good. I'm actually worried about a vote split, but it's so hard to lose as an incumbent.

Think carefully about the daylight savings time question, this is how it is worded:
Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?

If you don't like changing your clocks, I totally get that. But switching to permanent daylight savings time is a bad idea. As usual, the province has botched this. The question should say something like "Do you want Alberta to eliminate switching back and forth from Daylight Savings Time?". If the result was yes, then we could have had a rational, evidence-based discussion about whether we should stick with daylight savings time, or standard time. We should probably stick with standard time:
