My face is a bum!

For Ward 9, there are many things I don't love about Carra, but the fact he isn't beholden to community development boards is a positive to me. NIMBYism is killing our cities and putting housing out of reach for many.

I still don't know who to vote for in ward 6. No one really inspires confidence.

Pincott’s endorsement will have the opposite effect on me. What a useless councillor he was.

Yeah, he's not my favourite either but I'm probably gonna vote for him.
He seems to be a pretty middle of the road candidate, and with so much turnover on city council I'm okay with voting for an incumbent I'm okay with just for a little bit of continuity.
That being said, I looked a bit at other candidates I wouldn't mind if Naomi Withers won, her website seems to have some good information and a little bit more substance than a lot of the other candidates websites. I do get mixed feelings about her section on planning and development.
I'm going to actually vote for school trustee for the first time too (David Barrett), mostly just because I know him a little bit from the community association and have worked on a project with him.

Spencer for me as well. His experience with the city, organizing in the community and detailed platform made him the clear choice for me.
Phan isn't bad either, though I don't like that he had Kmiec campaigning with him. I don't want political influence from Federal or Provincial parties in my municipal politics if I can help it.

If I was still in Calgary, David would have my vote. He's such a good person, really cares about his community and puts in a lot of work to make things better.

Same for me. except time zone and senators.
I believe someone on here made a remark about Auffrey a while ago (could have been DownInFlames) that made me look at her positions and I liked what i saw so it was between her and Walcott. I went with Walcott as he seems to have more private signs around.
Living in the beltline, having a progressive candidate is super important to me (i am largely right-of-center or a centrist). Too many councilors think of Downtown as a place that operates between 8-5 with wide streets to move people out fast and places to drink for happy hour and 2 am. A lot of people forget that this is a place where people live and we still want a livable area with parks, quiet (relatively) streets, and safe commutes.
EDIT:
I popped into City Hall quickly this afternoon to cast my ballot. Super quick and easy. I even accidently spoiled my ballot as i made a small mark on another Trustee's name. The machine wouldn't read it so they just gave me a new form and destroyed my spoiled ballot.

Ward 11
Mayor - Gondek
Councillor - Herschel This was the most difficult. It was basically a three way tie for me but Herschel just seemed to have the best personality and would be the easiest to work with.
Fluoride - No
Time Change - No
Equalization - No
Senate - Thunders and Kinney
School - Close

I'm glad some people are finally getting their ballots. If mine ever shows up:
Mayor - Gondek
Councillor - Undecided* (Ward 5)
School Trustee - Humaira Falak
Fluoride - yes
Time Change - no
Equalization - no, for no reason other than it's the opposite of what Kenney wants
Senate - Thunders, Kinney, and Karina Pillay (who sounds like a good choice if this were actually a serious election)
*Raj Dhaliwal, Stan Sandhu, and Tudor Dinca all sound like decent choices. I wish I knew which one has the best chance of beating Sadat.

I think you're the first reported "no" on fluoride. Be interested to hear your thoughts on that.

It’s honestly not that big of a deal to me and I’m sure it’s going to be overwhelmingly “Yes” but I’m just of the opinion that for the money 99% of it is probably going straight down the drain anyways. There is also some evidence that it can hinder photosynthesis in some plants but to what degree and at what levels I’m not sure. If it ends up getting added I’m fine with that and if it doesn’t I’m fine with that too, whatever the result is I just hope it’s finally dealt with either way.

As one of the 2 I am a little surprised by the apparent margin on this one. I thought it would have been closer with the majority actually leaning the other way. I'm not going to get into the debate, everyone has their opinion and that's cool. Just thought it would be closer that's all. I suspect we'll see heavy support for it outside the major cities.

It's probably more a statement about the referendum being meaningless politicking as opposed to people thinking equalization is perfect as is. Plus another chance to stick it to Kenney.

Yeah, it's a waste of time and money and the answer doesn't matter. So I'm voting no mainly because Kenney wants me to vote yes.
