No, I'm aware. I just didn't care all that much really.
I don't usually vote in federal or provincial elections either. Most often I spoil my ballot anyways. Although I did vote NDP in the provincial election when they won, whatever year that was. Before that I can't remember the last time I voted. Sometime in my early 20s. It was literally a complete waste of time since the winners were known well before election day.
Province and Feds used to be a foregone conclusion since I was in conservative strongholds. This year was different since I live in a hippie neighborhood for the federal election.
For municipal politics, this was my first vote in a new riding and this is an important election since lots of wards are up in the air and we have a new mayor. Add in fluoride and time change (although non binding) and it was enough to get me to want to vote for once.
