Raducanu has rock solid ground strokes and she is speedy, this is certainly no fluke.

Well this didn't age well.
Based on the final game, I'd say the question still stands.
Incredible performance from Leylah - just amazing theatre

Yeah... I just don't want to give her too much grief given how well she held it together earlier in the match and set. Lots of things in that match that could cause a favourite to unravel and she just couldn't clear the final hurdle.
Anyway, Maria had one good service game and is now back to complete and utter garbage.

And this is why Sakkari is not a top 10 player. Just lost all of her god like abilities.

Fernandez vs. Raducanu will be fun, and quiet

My goodness, what a passing shot by Emma. Just a really impressive service game overall.

Should be a lot of longer rallies I would think. Both very good defenders. But I'm concerned that suddenly Leylah will hit like 5 double faults and 20 UEs per set because apparently just looking across the net at Raducanu is so terrifying you forget how to do everything you were previously competent at.

amazing run by Fernandez!
I don't follow tennis that closely (despite the fact Canadian tennis is doing incredible of late), but she came out of nowhere... I know she won one of the Junior slams however...

18 year old Emma Raducanu vs. 19 year old Leylah Fernandez is the women's final. Crazy stuff.

I am, on behalf of Leylah, terrified.
It is not Novak Djokovic who takes your soul. It is Emma.

Apparently, the two women’s single finalists are ranked 73rd and 150th in the world. Anyone know if any final has ever had lower rankings? I imagine they have had lower.
