He would instantly become a top 3 D man there.

I had opined it was Calgary or bust for Stone but I hadn't even considered Edmonton, which would make sense for him personally if there's no PTO offer in Calgary.
That said, Stone can PTO in Edmonton and still wind up here, a la Versteeg.

Good lord. This is the team that we are going to start the season with isn’t it. And no new deal for JG. Unreal.
Has Treliving done his usual summer presser after he signs his UFA’s? Treliving himself can’t be happy.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Remember at the end of last season how quiet Treliving was? Next to no availabilities, people (myself included) wondering if he had already been canned?
I expect that sort of vibe as we go to camp. Little to no noise. He's not getting fired, but I doubt we hear much.

It is HEAVILY skewed toward centers because they forecheck less . It really is a flawed stat.

How does the number of forechecks affect at stat based on percentages?

Treliving did do a presser at the end of free agency day.
Said things like there was still work to be done and that it was no coincidence that they had cap room flexibility at that point.
I'm hoping Brad "You build your roster in the summer" Treliving isn't done yet, and that until the first day of training camp (not rookie camp) starts, it still counts as summer right now.
He'll probably have some availability when training camp starts.
Also saw a poster on the Flames HFBoards say they were at Brian Burke's Target for Kids event on Tuesday. According to the poster, he talked to Treliving for a minute and asked him about Eichel, but Treliving didn't sound "very hopeful" that there was a deal to be made in the near future.
But I doubt Treliving would tip his hand one way or the other to a fan in a small chat. I did find the pictures of Burke and Treliving firing guns to be oddly funny though.

Remember when the summer started and there was a few posters who said "great, this is our roster... more of the same...." and they got roasted because there was so much time left and Tre said he wasnt done....

Would like to see how puck battles are defined for that stat and how wins and losses are defined. I’m not putting a ton of weight on it.

Because defending is easier than attacking. Defencemen usually win most of their battles and puck races.

if they're counting faceoffs as puck battles, that may also be why.

Good point I tried searching for the methodology used by jfresh and was unable to find the shared tables. Pay wall?

I can’t see face offs being included. That’s a completely different contest/part of the game and would really throw all that data out the window.

I think it was last season or the season before, but he said something about people relaxing and reading a book. In other words... He is not going to worry about what the fans are doing during the offseason.
