That is not at all clear. We know for a fact that the Flames have been actively exploring options to move Monahan for a while now. It also clear that they are pretty determined to get value for their players, which has a lot to do with why nothing has happened yet.

This is "expected"? By whom?

Montreal Lol.

Plus there was a market for Dvorak , and most teams interested in him are expecting a trend upwards. Getting out of Arizona should help that, plus playing with better players.

It doesn’t appear there was much of a market for Dvorak. At least not at that price.

I missed this. How was this substantiated?

We don’t know it at all, but the guys on 960 have talked about it. It probably comes down more to what you want to believe.

One interpretation seems to be that Monahan is actively being shopped but no one in the league values him. While guys like Dvorak yield premium draft picks.

FWIW on today’s 31 thoughts podcast Friedman states ‘I’m sure they asked about Monahan’ regarding Montreal’s last week or so.

Or, more likely, the asking price for Monahan is very high.

I think it was widely established that he was part of the ask for Josh Anderson last summer, no?

Almost every trade over the last two years, there is a healthy number of fans remarking how such and such a GM overpaid for the player and so happy it wasn’t Calgary.

For a team that needs change we really should be in one of those deals as a seller. Pocket the draft capital and spend it later.

Yeah, "actively exploring options to move Monahan", doesn't read at all like answering the phone for an inquiry. And then asking about your own claim, doesn't sound like the original statement had any formal legitimacy to it either.

Can put that one to bed then.

I will make any bet you want right now Dvorak puts up more points than Backlund this year.

That really means nothing. Montreal Center depth is garbage. Dvorak will get more minutes and more opportunity.

Backlund is better than Dvorak no matter how many points they get next season.

Besides, Dvorak didn't outscore a 3rd liner in Backlund last year, how can you be so confident dissentowner?

No, no he isn't. Take off the rose colour glasses. Backlund isn't even a better 200 foot player at this point, he hasn't been since Colorado destroyed him in the playoffs.

Because I know the players skillset. If you are so confident put your money where your mouth is. How about $100?

Not sure how you're reading that I'm confident that backlund will outscore Dvorak next season. You even quoted my post where I said Dvorak will get more opportunity and more minutes and I stated that even if he does get more points it doesn't make him a better player.

Are you that desperate for a bet?

People can disagree without having to be challenged to bets or accused of being homers

Since when is it against the rules to challenge someone to a bet? People do it on here all the time and you don't say boo. When your best friend T99 does it how come you don't say boo then? This poster was going on about how much better Backlund is than Dvorak and how trash Dvorak is in multiple threads so I called him out on it.

No one has said it is against the rules. Your reading comprehension is very poor and I don't mean that as an insult. But you need to reread posts and think about what it says. You took a comment about him saying you can disagree with out calling someone a homer or trying to solicit a bet and turned it into a personal vendetta against yourself somehow.
