Blue Jays and Leafs will require a PCR test, is that a rapid test?

Do your own research. Look it up. Check the statistics.

The mantra of those that have never done any of the three.

In short, no. PCR is more accurate, but results take longer. (3-7 days). I suppose the biggest issue with them would be a potential infection between testing and attendance.

Rapid tests aren't very good at picking up positive cases if you don't have symptoms, or don't have symptoms yet. When AHS was doing rapid testing at their centres, they would only do rapid tests on people with symptoms. If you were a close contact, but didn't have symptoms, you had to do the regular test.

At the same time, you are most contagious in the two days before you develop symptoms.

I think rapid tests have their place, but I would use them more for workplaces, where people need to go, to try and at least catch some cases. To use them for a strictly leisure activity, doesn't make sense. Except to placate those who refuse to get vaccinated.

They read a Facebook post from some doctor.

Not a real doctor of course, just a guy that put Dr. in front of his name

Are you vaccinated against a flu? You are not, because vaccine is ineffective against respiratory diseases. A known fact for decades. Because there are so many variants there is no point in doing so. All of you vaccinated against the "standard" variant will need to get another shot anytime the virus mutates. And it's still not a real protection. Maybe for yourself, if you have a chance of having a more sever symptons, but certainly not for the others. Those you can infect as much as anyone unvaccinated. At some point you will need to decide what is the "lesser" evil. Some say day are protecting their elders, but by doing so, creating a world their children will not want to live in.

I chose to get vaccinated for my own reasons and they are my reasons to keep. For people that don't want to get vaccinated so be it, I don't care. I ignore it, at this point they are in a minority.

However:

If you folks are so concerned about everyone's health why not lobby to make Happy Meals $35 each to end childhood obesity.

Make a can of beer $100 each to end alcoholism, domestic abuse, child abuse, drunk driving and the other numerous amounts of issues that stem from alcohol.

Take away the driving license of any person that has a BMI over 30 and not allow them to ride share or use public transit so they have to walk or bike everywhere.

Forcing a healthy person to do something against their will (even if it helps them) is not right.

Should all babies get vaccinated in the hospital regardless of religious or personal beliefs? I think the parents are stupid not to but I certainly wouldn't condone forcibly taking an infant from their parents to immunize them.

The great divide of humanity keeps getting wider I fear. Race, Religion, Sexuality, Political, and now vaccination.

Anyone else tired of the anger?
Anyone else tired of Covid?
Anyone else tired of false equivalencies?
Anyone else tired of oversimplifications?
Anyone else tired of the inability to think critically?
Anyone else tired of people who think enabling vaccinated people to safely engage in non-essential activities FORCES anyone to do anything against their will?

There is no divide in Race, Religion, Sexuality, Political, or vaccination either.

There is a divide in being an open, intelligent, empathetic, moral and ethical human who seeks to better understand, comprehend, and act on complex issues and being one who does not.

Just because someone makes you reflect on topics that enable weak minded insecurity related to Race, Mythology (Religion), Sexuality, Politics, and now vaccines doesn’t mean others are divided by them.

Critical thought enables people to learn from anyone’s mistakes and grow into being a more aware and conscientious human.

Everyone learns more from being wrong than they do from being right.

Make mistakes quickly.

A fan with a negative test has less transmission risk than just a vaccinated fan IMO. Not sure why they wouldn't follow the Ontario teams' policy, or perhaps they will once they release further details.
Logistics are way easier by enforcing vaccinations. They probably ran the math and operations needed to carry out the testing and said screw it. Also, now there is no way to really blame them if tests are administered incorrectly etc. Easy and least painful route for the Flames.

You're just full of nonsense. Kids aren't vaccinated against whooping cough? Flu shots change every year because they mutate, just like coronavirus mutates. The flu shot still protects millions of people every year.

Wow. There is a lot going on here.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about.

Can you provide any source material for your theories on virology for the willfully ignorant?

Torn on this. On one hand I'm vaxx'd and think everyone should and you're silly not to.

But on the other hand I respect people's decision to do what they want with their one body, regardless of what I might believe or trust - and how much I disagree with their decision.

We don't mandate vaccines for other things like the flu (which COVID's death rates long term will likely mimic), so making it a requirement of everyday life seems a bit authoritarian, even if the end goal is altruistic and noble.

You didn’t really answer the question? If a vaccine is shown to reduce harm at the population level in Israel would you take it?

If what you are saying is true the vaccinated in Israel should be getting a worse version of Covid then the unvaccinated and therefore once infected die at a higher rate correct? What assertion are you making and how would that assertion if true show up in the data?

I think your logic is faulty. the human immune system is creating antibodies to create natural immunity. Then Covid has a potential to mutate every time it transmits. The variants best able to infect survive. So with or without a vaccine the risk of variants is unchanged. So we can aquire immunity by killing .5% of us each time a significant new variant emerges or natural immunity wears out or we can vaccinate. You’d have to show why a vaccine is worse than natural immunity. Reducing opportunities to escape is the key thing to suppress.

No, they should just leave, never post again, here or anywhere else, AND go get vaccinated.

If/when we go into some kind of lockdown, and an unvaccinated person complains about it, I will be tempted to seek them out to punch them in the face.

The difference between the examples you listed and being unvaxxed is causing harm to others. No one cares if it hurts you, it's everyone else.

A more appropriate comparable would be drinking and driving.
Why should we care if someone drinks and drives? It's their body, their car, their freedom. They should be free to take that risk and crash if they want, right?

I think we need custom user titles for every anti-vaccination moron on here.

"Anti-vax Moron" will work just fine

That way you know right off the hop that you're about to read an idiots opinion
