This forum is unbelievable. I am honestly shocked reading through it. People lost their sanity.
Unvaccinated people are not harming others. If anything, they could potentially harm themselfes, risking a worse symptoms if infected.
In a fully vaccinated society, the only result will be the more resistant variant of the virus will prevail, making the vaccine ineffective. Before anyone bothers me with a delusional answer, please do you reaserch about Israel, a nation with around 85% vaccination. They have the probably the most severe outbreak of delta variant in the world.
Vaccination doesn't make you immune. It doesn't stop the spread. Most of the people get vaccine just to be able to get back to normal life. I bet a lot of people will get a shot just so they could attend events such NHL games. But the moment anyone will raise a legal issue at the court, all of this madness will crumble like a card house. Given that in Canada, the individual rights and freedom still have any value.
You need to make a decision: do you want to live in a free world, or is the 1984 type of world more fitting for you? Honestly, I am disgusted.

No one gives a ##### about your reasons for getting it. All that matters is you get it. Like there's all this hoopla that means #### all. Its very much black and white in the end. This thing will ravage enough population to overrun hospitals every few months until 90% or more of us have two needles.
Holding off is yelling at the trees without seeing the damn forest. There's no other way out of this thing long term.
Everybody getting their shots is literally the only way to achieve sustained normality. There's no plan B, if you care about freedoms.
The only way holding out indefinitely works is if you plan to live in isolation for the rest of your existence because 6 months from now, and more likely 3, you won't allowed to go anywhere unvaccinated that exposes you to other people for a sustained period of time.

I'm getting tired of replying to trolls but I'll give it one last go.
Letting the virus transmit easily is what causes it to mutate into different variants. Not the other way around

So, does anyone have any idea what the proof of vaccination here in Alberta looks like?
I'm sure it will be different for Flames games, but when I went too Nashville North at stampede, either a picture of your vaccination card, or showing your MyAlberta health records app was sufficient

Do you accept the Israel data as 100% factual and will base your decision on whether or not to get a vaccine based on the Israel experience?
If it were shown that vaccines are reducing harm in Israel, home of the worst Delta outbreak in the world would you take it?

Unvaccinated people are at a greater risk of transmitting to other, including vaccinated people. And they are taking up ICU beds at an alarming rate. In some states they have run out. This harms those who need those beds for other medical issues. And the more unvaccinated people there are, the more the vaccine resistant variants can occur.
You should turn in your law degree, by the way. The Supreme Court in the US has ruled vaccine mandates are legal. And their rights are more absolute than in Canada, which has s. 1.

If you folks are so concerned about everyone's health why not lobby to make Happy Meals $35 each to end childhood obesity.
Make a can of beer $100 each to end alcoholism, domestic abuse, child abuse, drunk driving and the other numerous amounts of issues that stem from alcohol.
Take away the driving license of any person that has a BMI over 30 and not allow them to ride share or use public transit so they have to walk or bike everywhere.
Forcing a healthy person to do something against their will (even if it helps them) is not right.
Should all babies get vaccinated in the hospital regardless of religious or personal beliefs? I think the parents are stupid not to but I certainly wouldn't condone forcibly taking an infant from their parents to immunize them.
The great divide of humanity keeps getting wider I fear. Race, Religion, Sexuality, Political, and now vaccination.
Anyone else tired of the anger?
The issue with obesity and alcohol are that they have complex underlying issues that won't be solved through those kind of measures. Prohibition didn't solve anything with alcohol and I am firm believer that prohibition on drugs causes more harm than good. The better approach is to have systems in place to deal with the fallout and those are getting strained by Covid.
Outside of that though there are criminal and social consequences for alcoholism, domestic abuse, child abuse and drunk driving. There are also certain things obese people cannot do that are more recreational and have built-in weight limits that they cannot participate in (ie theme parks) and there is a large social stigma associated with obesity that is enforced socially.
If people do not want to get vaccinated then they can deal with the social consequences of their actions.
I think this decision by the CSEC is more about pandering to those threatening to cancel season tickets/boycott games due to lack of vaccine policy. I'm sure they got tons of emails judging from the responses in this thread. If the true concern was the limitation of spread, then why wouldn't they allow fans with negative tests into games?
A fan with a negative test has less transmission risk than just a vaccinated fan IMO. Not sure why they wouldn't follow the Ontario teams' policy, or perhaps they will once they release further details.

This is a click bait article. All it states is that the roughriders have not indicated that they would follow other teams or not yet.
The quote from CEO was from June. Things have changed since then.
They have a bye week this week so hopefully follow the rest of the league.

My theory is REAL which I think operates the exhibition grounds including Mosaic stadium and Brandt Centre (where the Pats play) are waiting until the Queen City Ex (carnival attended by your typical anti vax type) is over after this weekend to announce a similar policy.
The way some people are acting towards unvaxxed people in this tread is actually quite scary. I think if this conversation was all done in a physical room people would be tying those that think different then you up and dragging them into the street and shooting them right on the spot with the vaccine.
I chose to get vaccinated for my own reasons and they are my reasons to keep. For people that don't want to get vaccinated so be it, I don't care. I ignore it, at this point they are in a minority.
However:

I must have missed the memo where any of those things are contagious. For the record, while all of those things are terrible and need assistance, obesity on the other side of the planet doesn't impact people here. Alcoholism in Shelbyville doesn't really affect anybody here. On the other hand, COVID19 went from a few isolated cases in a city on the other side of the planet to a worldwide pandemic in a matter of months. It went from absolutely nothing to the 3rd highest cause of death in the USA in 2020. And that's WITH all the steps taken to mitigate it.
It's a serious, serious problem, and every un-vaxxed/anti-mask moron that puts others at risk for future mutations deserves all the vitriol they get.

Always hilarious when the words "do your research" are immediately followed with a lie. It's 62% full 68% partial.
Do you people even TRY? Like, you've got all the facts in the world right at your fingertips. It's never been easier. And yet you get even the most basic information wrong. Maybe it's time to listen to the rest of us, instead of pretending you know what you are talking about. Go get the ####ing vaccine.

I’d suspect most people in this thread would be perfectly fine with a policy of a negative test the same day of the game.
Why the flames won’t do it is cost, lines and enforcement. I suspect they looked at the Nashville North numbers and decided the cost associated with rapid testing wasn’t worth it relative to the number of fans they will lose as a result of the policy. It’s also likely too cumbersome to push that cost onto ticket holders.
Deflecting by pointing out other health conditions/issues that have nothing to do with the ongoing situation around covid is some weak ass, head in the sand s###.
Pure delirium and ignorance.
